Id buy some stronger bolts that simply screw straight in. ones given have anchor bolts and I didnt like them but used them. **Q: How much does the keypad and knob stick out from the flat front?** A: You could also cut out the sheet rock over the stud along with the square you are cutting out. that would allow the flange to sink all the way in an extra half inch to the wood. then dress up the sheetrock somehow. smooth and paint it. **Q: Can this safe be securely installed between metal wall studs with mounting provided?** A: I believe so, but at the very most, you would have to pick up for self tapping, lag bolts. **Q: What are actual measured dimensions of this product (i.e. exterior dimensions including flange). Interior dimensions? Wall hole dimensions?** A: I can't give you an answer at this point, but I wrote a review which was detailed. Not so much about the dimensions as my disappointment- once I installed it, I realized what should have been obvious - the locking mechanism takes up a good 1 - 1/2 inches in the middle of the safe. The depth is not real deep, because it is flush with the drywall - but at least 2".
