I had been using some colored led lights for mood lighting and I thought the addition of a colored sound activated strobe might be just the thing. I mounted this light between the two speaker banks and it works PERFECTLY! By setting my ambient light to red and the strobe to blue, the effect is hauntingly sexy...just what I wanted. With the sound sensitivity set almost as low as it will go, the strobe kicks in only when the bass is pounding which was EXACTLY the effect I was going for. For the money, this is a VERY cool light. All that remains is to see how long it lasts. If I get more than three months out of it, I will consider it money well spent. I love that you can set the speed of the strobing to however fast or slow you want. I just don’t like that they’re so small. I have yet to screw them to the ceiling and use them preoperly but they are just for my own entertainment so in the mean time I just prop them on a table and point them in the area I need them.When it comes to the sound-activated strobe lights, they respond to sound from a speaker very well and I like that I can control the sensitivity of the sound activator, but I wish there could’ve been something like a toggle switch in case you didn’t want it sound-activated. That way I wouldn’t have to buy regular strobe lights too, it would be all in one.I wouldn’t recommend it for bigger areas because they are super tiny.
