I do notice that there's not much wiggle-room in the hips, and I have relatively narrow hips. The front-most pockets are ergonomically not for one's hands but are perfect for a phone and a pair of glasses. The side pockets are deep and zippered. Warmth-wise? It's been below zero in the mornings here for over a week and I stay toasty taking the dog out for a walk then getting into my cold, cold car. A 45' walk in the teens, with blustery wind, and I'm warm as can be (where the coat covers me, at least - my nose is another matter!) I'm especially impressed by the lining around and cut of the neck - it fits just right when zipped all the way up, so my neck is covered in warmth without feeling strangled.
