While there is a free online introductory course ( which is definitely worth a watch alongside this book) the book itself is jam packed full of ideas, stories behind some of the works, lots of useful troubleshooting tips and most importantly the early chapters encourage you to collect your own images/sketches so you are starting right off designing your own ideas, instead of cloning the artist's, which is a really important copyright consideration as I plan to add embroidered motifs to pieces I will be selling. Definitely a must have if you are considering creating freehand botanical and marine motifs. I think I'm hooked!
