That is one of the differences. The Pivot model you have to remove the cork and use the provided stopper to press the pivot thru it to pour wine, whereas the Timeless model you keep the cork in and its a needle that goes thru the cork for pouring. Both uses argon gas that can get expensive overtime but if you are a wine lover/collector it is worth the expense. **Q: I just replaced my first cartridge and the second cartridge won't dispense air. The pressure is very faint.
