Review: the illustrations are beautiful but pretty complex for a young child - Its ok. i bought it for my 8 month old. the illustrations are beautiful but pretty complex for a young child. probably would suit an older kid. The actual dampener was the audio CD. the songs are sung really fast.. and a lot of them are just read out.. for a young child, the songs needed slow rythm and repetition which was missing. For eg. 'Mary had a little lamb' is read out instead of being sung.. why? why?? But beautiful illustrations and a good collection of rhymes!

Its ok. i bought it for my 8 month old. the illustrations are beautiful but pretty complex for a young child. probably would suit an older kid. The actual dampener was the audio CD. the songs are sung really fast.. and a lot of them are just read out.. for a young child, the songs needed slow rythm and repetition which was missing. For eg. 'Mary had a little lamb' is read out instead of being sung.. why? why?? But beautiful illustrations and a good collection of rhymes!
