The movie was directed by James Wan and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in the lead roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Set in 1971, the story narrates how Roger Perron moves into an old farmhouse with his wife Carolyn and daughters Nancy andrea, Christine, April and Cindy on Rhode Island. Soon after moving in, the family stumbles upon a concealed basement in the house when is heavily locked at the entrance. Things start to get spooky when noises and ghosts are encountered by the family, their dog Sadie is found dead outside the house and Carolyn wakes up with unexplained bruises. Christine and Nancy are attacked by an invisible figure one night and the family hears sounds of clapping and giggling as picture frames start to shatter on the stairs. This is when the Warrens are called for by Carolyn to investigate the haunted presence in the house. Their investigation uncovers the mystery behind the presence, which leads them to the story of a witch who sacrificed her seven-day old child for Satan. She has possessed every new mother in the house ever since and forced them to kill their children. I never believed in Ghost or Demon until i saw this movie in theater. From that moment, i started giving benefit of doubt. It really scare the sh*t out of me. Blu ray disc is amazing. It has two audio i.e Master HD-DTS and Dolby Digital. Of course, some exciting special features which is really creepy than movie. Overall, its really worth buying. It has special features and scenes on how it was directed.The most terrifying thing about it is that it is based on a real story that happened long back. The ghost hunters depicted in the movie actually existed. I don't know whether this thing is true or not but overall this movie was worth my price. Nice service by Amazon but a little disappointed in the courier company. It lost one star because the movie is, in a way, over the top regarding the scary scenes.
