You must take off the plastic "boots" to secure. a very good product and DO NOT BY THE Chinese fake one that is just a bit cheaper. I ordered both and immediately sent back the cheap Chinese version. Get the DeWalt sanctioned real one. It works good. If you want more height you would need to mount saw to some 2x4's then to the saw brackets. **Q: Will this table fit the DW745 table saw?** A: NO, the 4 hex head bolts provided with DW7440RS for table saw mount don't fit the DW745 mounting hole diameter. You need one size smaller hex head bolts in order to feed thru the mounting holes. I bought 4 new bolts from Home Depot. Dewalt check your provided hex head bolt package **Q: will this stand fit a makita 10" table saw? or other saws for that matter?** A: I believe most 10 inch saws will fit this stand. I have a Ryobi 10inch saw that is over ten years old and it fits. The assembly instructions are vague in some spots, but iI was able to get mine assembled in about 2 hours. It did require reattachment of the legs though.
