Trying to find something that would fit in a duffle bag for field work.** A: It doesn't fold... It comes apart in 4 pieces so you can easily put it in a bag for field work. Finally I know what height I am, and I'm not disappointed. Great for measuring the kids. Just press it towards the wall. There's a bar that attaches to the very top, which you need to press against the wall. Lean it against the wall. Perpendicular bar you affix on the very top.
