To use for monoprints, just peel the acetate covering from one side, then apply your paint or inks onto the surface. Spread the medium around with a brayer, then place your paper onto the plate and press to transfer the paints or inks onto the paper surface. Continue printing until the print is too light and doesn't transfer well. For added interest, try pressing textures such as bubble wrap or embossed cardstock onto the wet paint to make a pattern that can be transferred during printing. Stamping onto the wet paint will lift the paint off the plate and transfer the stamp design in your print. Try rolling the Polka Dot and Pin Stripe Brayers (link) across the inked plate to create a wonderful background when you print. Clean off your paint or ink and start again--or add more paint, spread it around, and print again for another look! Use your monoprints as backgrounds for mixed media projects, the bases in card making and scrapbooking, cut them into tags, or use them in other paper crafts.
