Because it's so light I could easily grab it or set it aside as I needed it. We have cats so the only problem was making sure to wipe it down with a non-abrasive cloth as necessary. You don't want dirt or hair getting on your photo slides/ negatives. I imagine it would also be good for artists and teachers -- for projects that require tracing.
