It does great. But mulberry is indigenous to zone 5,6 so you should be fine. **Q: Will this grow good in Tampa fl** A: I have not received my plant and l would like you to refund my money. I was hoping for an actual tree - can this grow into a tree?** A: I planted two in the ground. Both grew very fast into very tall 20 foot trees. I prune them down every year or they would grow taller. If you allow all the side shoots to grow, you could prune it into a bush, but not likely. It goes mostly from a main trunk into a very tall and fruitful trees. I have canned a lot of mulberry jam, which everyone loves. And it makes great pies and fruit leathers. It is a very fast growing and prolific TREE! **Q: I just got my little trees, do I keep them indoors over the winter ?** A: I would. I got mine late spring and I potted it and left it on my porch. Contacted Amazon and received an authorization to send them back 2 days later, but I had to return them. Unfortunately the trash was long gone. I do not recommend these, they are very small and have very little growing medium, these plants were less than 3” tall and looked more like a stem of celantro stuck into .5 oz of rock wool.
