While looking for insulation, I came across this product, noted for sound proofing. I grabbed a bundle to try out and found that it came well packed and easy to install and work with. Because my walls are not yet complete (I have only used it on the ceiling), I am unsure of how well the insulation is going to work, conclusively, but it seems to have deadened some of the noise from those walking above, so at this time, it seems to be working as intended. I pealed off the existing felt strips then cleaned the door and wiped it down with acetone. Then I marked lines 1/2" in from the rails to help me keep the installation straight. I painted Dap weldwood contact cement on the flat profile ribs of the door, then the entire surface of one side of a pre-cut piece of insulation. Then starting at the top I placed the edge of the sheet vertically on my marks. Then I smoothed it down horizontally on the rest of the door. It is pretty tough stuff, I didn't tear it once, even though I was trying to work fast and really put a lot of pressure to make a good bond. It cut easily with a good scissors.
