It was worth buying three stories than just the one. I remember being introduced to Asterix when I was in the 5th grade, using it as a creative lit class project, and loving it ever since. As I got older, and re-read it, I would catch the word play and cultural references (Hilarious!!). It does play to racial stereotypes, but considering it was written back in the 40s or 50s...yeah, that was a different generation. You can read each comic seperately and be able to follow the story, though certain characters do repeat throughout the series. I am buying them again as an adult and enjoying them just as much as I did as a kid.
