## Description

Product description

Review: works great, and very fairly priced - I use this to paint my Kyosho Mini-z car bodies - with the no-name compressor, this airbrush works fantastic and is easy to clean. Very happy with it
Review: 6 Month Review: I regret everything - So you want to buy an airbrush? I was in your shoes not too long ago, so allow me to give you some advice before pressing that "Buy now" button. I'll start by saying this was the first airbrush I ever used. I was tempted by the low price and the cheapness was reassuring since I had zero skills whatsoever. Initially my opinion of this airbrush was pretty favorable and I couldn't find much fault with it. Despite stripping it down and cleaning it every single night, I frequently ran into issues like sputtering, clogging, etc., but figured this was just part of the airbrush experience. After a few months I decided to fork over the money for a more expensive airbrush made by a Japanese company. I didn't think it would be tremendously different than the Master, however I've never been so wrong before. The new airbrush quickly shined a light on all the flaws the Master airbrush has, and it became abundantly clear why this airbrush is so cheap: It's a piece of s**t. The expensive airbrush became the Main almost immediately, and the Master quickly gained a reputation for being a hassle to use and clean compared to the Main. Here's a general list of the most annoying issues: - The cavity that holds paint in the bottom of the cup is not shaped in a way that funnels fluids towards the nozzle. This causes paint to pool at the back of the cavity, allowing the needle to pull the paint back into the body of the airbrush and clog up the inner workings. This leads to the brush needing to be stripped down every time I use it to remove paint chunks from the back half of the airbrush. (The Main has a funnel-shaped cavity that basically causes this to almost never happen). - The nozzles break off far too easily. In just over 6 months of use I've snapped the threads off of three 0.3mm nozzles by simply screwing them into the body with next to no pressure at all. A replacement nozzle is about $10, so this brush has cost me about $70. (The main has a non-threaded nozzle that literally cannot do this.) - The 0.5mm nozzle and needle are useless. For whatever reason, when I install the 0.5mm nozzle and needle it's like the brush has no pressure at all and it sprays to the side. It did this from the factory, but QC is not a real surprise anymore. - The hose attachment o-ring doesn't fit. This brush includes a quick-disconnect attachment, which is rather helpful. The problem is with the rubber o-ring that is supposed to seal the body of the brush from the disconnect attachment, which just gets folded up and crinkled within the quick-disconnect itself. This leads to an air leak after about a week of use, and I've regularly had to apply teflon tape to the threads to seal the damn thing. - The o-ring in the nozzle doesn't seal. This is a more recent development but an o-ring that seals the nozzle cap to the body has simply decided it doesn't want to work anymore. The brush regularly blows whatever fluid is in it out through these threads, and I've had to start applying teflon tape to these threads as well. - It's unbalanced and uncomfortable to use. This was something that I didn't discover until I ordered the name-brand airbrush, but the Master airbrush is extremely nose-heavy, and it requires a tight grip to hold in place. This can lead to fatigue rather quickly and cramps, making it more difficult for detailed work as time goes on. The Main airbrush is balanced more rearward, and almost doesn't require any kind of pressure to hold in place at all, it just sits there like a quality product. - It clogs more than a frat house toilet. Unless I thin paint and primer past the consistency of water, it will start to dry within the brush itself extremely quickly. Usually if I can't get all the paint out within 3-5 minutes it will start clogging (As you might expect the Main somehow doesn't do this). Sometimes I'll notice it's clogging and can clear it, but other times it will clog and then immediately blast whatever was in the nozzle onto the part in HUGE blobs and then work just fine like nothing's gone wrong. There are times it clogs and requires a full drain and disassembly, and on one night it decided to blast the paint out the back of the brush! That was awesome. Usually I can get something for $20-30 and say "Oh well!" if it's really bad, but for whatever reason this thing has raised the bar for how bad something can be. If I'd never bought the other airbrush I probably would never even notice that this brush is such a piece of junk. If I have a single piece of advice for the aspiring airbrush user it's this: Save your money, buy an Iwata, or a Badger, or literally anything other than this. Don't do this to yourself.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: description states:"includes a how to airbrush training book". I didn't get a book. did anyone get a training book?**
A: I got one, but it was more of a pamphlet than a book. Online videos are much better at teaching you to airbrush than this book was.

**Q: I want to buy this for my 15 year old artistic nephe. what do I need to buy for him to start using it right away. he has never had one before.**
A: you'll need some kind of air source. A small compressor would be best, but you may be able to use canned air. Down side to canned air is that it gets expensive fairly quickly. also make sure you have a hose to connect the gun to the air source. lastly, you'll need a solvent that is appropriate for the paint you're using. The gun has worked well for me, but it is delicate. I've dropped them several times and each time I've had to replace the gun. You can get a kit that comes with the brush and the compressor on Amazon for about $80. Not cheap, but a good value compared with buying the items separately.

**Q: is the fitting 1/8 i want to get the right size hose**
A: I am confused with the 2 answers. Is the bottom of the unit 1/8" or 1/4". I saw one person said it was 1/4", which is strange as Master sells a 1/8" hose with a built in filter. Can someone confirm?

**Q: recently purchased the small neo compressor sadly i bought a single h and is not compatible will this work with the compressor neo**
A: I wish I could help you but Zi am not familiar with that compressor. My airbrushed operate off a 6 gallon "pancake " compressor from Hone Depot. I just dual it back to about 25-30lbs for airbrushing motorcycle parts and guns. I personaly don't think mini compressors can keep up. If you buy a mini, I would suggest one with a tank.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for small spray jobs
*by L***N on March 28, 2020*

With three (3) sets of needs you can adjust the spray from fine line to up to 2 inches wide. It's double action so I can get the air running first from the compressor before I begin the paint flow. This allows me to start off the item I and painting and then sweep it on and to the other side before coming back, It is a perfect dual action gravity feed cup for beginners. Be sure you follow your paint maker's directions for thinning the paints and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN the brush when you are done or changing colors. (I have three of these so that I don't need to stop as much when doing multi color) I use it for painting train locomotives or for weathering structures for my model railroad prior to assembling and gluing them. It's quite easy to clean just make sure you have a spray catch cup when cleaning it. It comes with built-in gravity cup with lid, 3 needles and nozzles and a 6 foot long hose with 1/8" fittings so no adapters are needed to fit it to my compressor. It's not a top of the line super duty, does everything but take you out for dinner airbrush but it gets the job done. I have been using it steadily now for a week, and no clogs, spitting or any other problems. Just remember to clean it AS SOON AS YOU STOP SPRAYING! That's the whole key to avoiding clogs and spitting. Dried paint is NOT our friend! So I rate this 5 star and recommend it no matter what your skill level is, since it is a workhorse of an airbrush. Just remember that it is a Chevy not a Mercedes.
