The tips of the ribs are fragile. If you stand it to dry as they suggest, or the end hits the ground for any reason, the tips break off and the outer layer disconnects. Is this normal? It still functions okay, but we're wondering if it's supposed to be this way. The blue sky inside the umbrella just makes me smile. The umbrella itself works great. I am able to get into my car and close my umbrella without getting drenched. It is so nice to close the umbrella and empty it of water before stowing it in the umbrella stand. I have used it on a few windy days and it holds up well.
