Ie. the dog across the hall** A: Dear customer, you can adjust the sensitivity by click the button "+"/"-", if the bark collar in high sensitivity, it may be triggered by other dogs, this situation happen infrequently. I guess you could attach it right on the collar itself, but you can use it with another collar as well. **Q: Does this collar come in different sizes? Want to be sure it fits my Min Pin.** A: After sizing collar can it be cut and not ravel? **Q: How do you know if it is working? Our masbrill never beeps** A: Make sure the device is close to the pets neck, tight but not too tight. The movement of the neck from the bark is what triggers the device. If that doesn’t work, check the batteries. We have 2 pets and they bark occasionally but usually quit once they hear the beeping. The battery is easy to replace and does not require tools. It uses a 4LR44 6V battery (available from Amazon).* Testing FunctionYou can test the functionality of the collar by gently blowing into the sensor.* Adjustable SensitivityOne of my dogs is a grumbler. He will grumble but it's not at the level of a bark. I adjusted the sensitivity level of the collar so that it would respond to barks but not his grumbling.* Sound and VibrationThe collar will emit a sound when it first detects a bark. After several barks it will emit the sound and a vibration. For two of my dogs, the sound alone is sufficient to stop their barking.* Lightweight* No crosstalkBecause I am using the collar on three dogs, it is important that the collar of one dog not respond to bark of another dog. In my experience, this collar responds to the wearer's barks and not the barks of other dogs.Cons* SizeWhile it's smaller than some other brands, it is still large for what it does.If they cut the size in half (at least half the height), it would be a best seller. My chihuahua-pekingese HATES IT. I'm moving to an apartment so I thought I'd try this to keep him from barking at every sound. I put it on him and he won't move. It fits him well, the strap is light but strong, and the buckle is secure. Maybe it DOES work because the neighbors dogs barked and he just sort of made a noise but didn't bark. I'm hoping he will get used to it so I don't get in trouble for him barking! I did put the prongs on my hand and I "barked" at it. It made a loud noise, I barked at again and it vibrated and made a longer noise. So it works without pain! I had put the collar on him in the morning and a few hours later the collar was frayed all throughout and was dragging about the dogs neck.I choose to wait to write this review because I was trying to find a more sturdy store bought collar but that's basically impossible since the most collars have a bulky loop or latch and the slots of the device are so narrow..
