It does detect any metal however. **Q: Is it waterproof?** A: It is sealed and stainless so it is very water resistant. It's not made to be submersed in water, though it could last for a time underwater. The sensor can take a light stream of water, but would likely fail under high pressure washdown over time. **Q: How sensitive is this switch to aluminum? 4mm? 2mm?
