Set aside the the face plate and slide the slim drive backwards into the enclosure,. Make sure that there is good contact between the SATA connector inside the enclosure and on your slim drive. You can use the face plate if the one from your slim drive does not fit. If the existing face plate on your slim drive is too big, you won't be able to push it back fully in order make a good SATA connection. **Q: Does it include cable as pictured? It is not listed in included items.** A: yes,cable is included , but this case cracked when the dvd was inserted. poorly designed **Q: The case can be opened or just slider, I ask because my dvd from toshiba satelite can't fit and is 9.5 mm or i have to forced ?** A: Case cannot be opened from the top. The DVD Writer just slides in, I took my DVD from a Toshiba Satellite. It is 9.5mm and had no problem getting to slide in without forcing it. Don't understand why yours doesn't fit. Have all the unnecessary screws and Toshiba face plate been removed? I used the face plate that came with the enclosure.
