What to do?** A: They make extension cords with built in dimmer circuits. I use one for a light string that was constantly burning out bulbs. They are used mostly for older Christmas tree toppers. The 2.5 bulbs are more for a strings of lights and will not work on the small electric Christmas decorations. **Q: Are these .96w bulbs please? Also does the light keeper tool work with these please? - I have a set of 20 Christmas tree lights** A: I don't know the wattage. I doubt the light keeper works as I believe it is designed only for the bulbs of strings of 50 bulbs or increments thereof. The strings that are increments of 50 bulbs are actually strings of 50 wired together sequentially. Since the bulbs are in a series circuit, If you divide 125 volts (120 approx.) by 50 bulbs, the result is 2.5 volts per bulb. The bulbs being asked about are 12 volts. Therefore, it is doubtful the light keeper will work since it is designed to send a pulse to a 2.5 volt bulb. Since the bulbs are 12 volt, they are designed to work in a 10 bulb string. 120 volts divided by 12 is 10 bulbs. Apparently, the 12v bulbs are far more expensive than the lower voltage ones like I bought last year. I was happy that this was two 10 packs for a total of 20 bulbs. At the price, it is almost $1 per bulb.One of the bulbs in my order had the tip of the glass come off and the bulb didn't work. If this was the the 100 pack of 2.5v bulbs, who cares. But when 1 out of 20 (5%) is broken.
