Product Description Fernox Protector F1 gives long-term protection of domestic central heating systems against internal corrosion and limescale formation. It prevents corrosion of all metals found in these systems, i.e. ferrous metals, copper and copper alloys and aluminium. It is suitable for all types of boiler, radiators and pipe work systems. Fernox F1 Protector is compatible with all metals and materials commonly used in central heating systems. Review: Good price - From what it says on the bottle seems to be good stuff have it in the boiler for about five years and water is crystal clear, so decide to add some more. Seller shipping was a bit slow but the price makes up for it. I was not in a rush to receive it so five stars from me. Use a cleaner first drain system than ad this one. If you shutting your pump for the summer this will stop pump from seizing.

**Q: How do i add this f1 to steam boiler? can i add it through an air vent hold on a radiator? thanks**
A: My boiler isn’t steam, it’s hot water. But the directions that I was given was to remove/drain all of the current water in the system completely after the boiler has cooled off. Then add the cleaner. Now what I did was to add a shark bite  “T”and poured it into the system as I didn’t have another other place to put it in.  Then I removed the “T” and replaced it with a coupler.  But on a steam system I would think that you could add it to your radiator top vent and put it in then refill the system.   After it’s refilled your going to run it if a few days. I’m doing mine a little longer, like 10 days. So during that time the chemical is going to move around and clean the system.  Just make sure you turn off the boiler before you start doing any work on it.  I hope that this helps

Time will tell if it works. I would have to do a partial drain of boiler water to check for rust cause i have 2 cast iron radiators in my basement, the rest of my rooms have baseboard elements which are copper
