Our safety blades may seem dull at first, but they’re sharpened to an effective level and they stay there up to 11 times longer than standard steel blades, which wear down quickly when cutting materials like fibreglass insulation. Traditional blades are oversharpened to compensate for quick dulling. Slice blades hold their edge much longer and don’t need to start at a dangerous level of sharpness.The 10559 Tool features a manual retraction mechanism: choose one of four preset blade lengths, or retract the blade fully when it’s not in use. Shorter blade stops handle tougher materials, while longer cutting depths are ideal for thick, soft materials. The industrial Tool is popular with manufacturers and installers who work with foam or insulation and are trying to minimize lacerations. Automatic retraction is available in the 10560 model.The Tool handle is made from lightweight, durable reinforced nylon and is tough enough to withstand worksite use.
