Also previous bin took quite large batteries to operate and we switched it off as it was a "nuisance" and we were better off opening it with our hands. This bin takes standard AA batteries and its at the perfect height for the sensor to work when you go near it. Nice clean design, wide and spacious, which makes it easy to remove the bin liners. Great kitchen bin. I would definitely recommend as it is much better than our old one. Also it has had 3 big falls so far (a month of having it) little nephew has been pushing it over everytime we've been emptying the bin. Second time it fell the sensor did stop working but dad fiddled with it and it worked fine...so it seems quite durable 👍 Today the sensor does seem a bit low, im guessing battery is finishing. Even 99p stores or Poundland might have big ones, it's worth trying as it's not a huge investment in those stores. Or online?
