Loud. Versatile. Don’t be put off by their size.
I’ve struggled with the tone from my helix, and have tried a number of solutions to try and get a reasonable replication of sound that I like when playing live. I’m not a valve amp purist, but know the sound I’m after for either recording or live performance. I’d originally discounted these as being too cheap and small (only 8” - pah!). However I was very disappointed with my current FRFR set up so took a gamble on one of these after having a little windfall… The sound is amazing. On the floor they are a little boomy, but either get them on a stand/chair or EQ the low end out and they are very clear with plenty of headroom. Good at low volume up to neighbour-annoying levels. I haven’t pushed them higher than that yet, but the one time I’ve used them at a low-level gig they cut through very clearly. I was so impressed I bought another one to run in stereo when to opportunity arises. I run mine out of the 1/4” outputs on the Helix and apply a global EQ setting to just those whilst running to the mixing desk from the XLRs. The volume control on the back for the two inputs is a little coarse - small movement big change, but that’s really the only gripe I have at the moment.

Fantastic for home FrFr modelling
FRFR 108: Buy this if you want a purpose built Flat response unit to use with your guitar modelling unit(S). I was using Presonus monitors in stereo and got good sound from my Helix but lacked bass. The Headrush does allow more authentic live sound in the mix, particularly at home or in a studio. I expect for live performance in bigger rooms that the 112 would be a better option. You could also use two 108 speakers as your monitoring system although this may work out a bit pricey. You would however then have a dual FRFR option for stereo or life gig situations. The unit is small, light and very robust.

A bit 'boomy' for very quiet home use, and doesn't have the vibe of an amp.
I liked this speaker, but returned it mostly for spiritual reasons. It sounded fine at working volume but, as with most mid-large sized speakers, if you don't drive it hard enough it doesn't reach its sweet spot. In this case, at really low 'after the kids have gone to bed' volume, it did seem a bit bottom-heavy and treble detail was muffled. I think that's more to do with simple physics though, rather than the characteristics of the product. I bought it to partner with a Strymon Iridium which I *love* playing in the bedroom through a little THR amp (set to Flat) - I love it so much I thought I could replace my li'l tweed amp downstairs with a speaker.. But once I'd set it all up, I realised I could never fall in love with it - it just doesn't have that simple guitar-into-an-amp magic. So I sent it back with no hard feelings, apologised to my Pro Junior for being led astray, and I'm sorted for the time being. If you're not bothered by either of the factors above (performance at whisper volume and 'spiritual connection'), then it really is a great quality speaker and brilliant value for money. Even better if you can afford two and have good stereo pedals or software.

Very able product
Bought two of these to use with a mooer ge300. After years of playing had an inspirational moment after watching a guitarist playing with an OCD through a jazz chorus 40 miked up. Could hear everything. Other guitar player was on the big valve vibe....which sounded massive during sound check. So, setting up, you need to go into your modeller and cut everything under 180/190 hz low cut. This gets rid of any boom. Crank the volume and you'll be 85% there compared to two valve stacks behind you....but here's the thing; most players stand in front of their cab. You'll have each headrush either side of you. Sound is an inverse square law so most punters won't know the difference between EL34's or a digitally modelled power stages but they will be able to hear you PLUS your effects you've spent hours honing in, in full range response. I'm using it at half volume and the master on the mooer is less than half way. Monster loud. At these levels it's kind of achieving the voodoo magic because it's speaker impedance magic but also your ears response. These units can reach that spl to achieve that....plus its MASSIVE fun tweeking!

Blown away!
These are little pocket rockets in terms of speakers - intended to be used as a guitar speaker in conjunction with the headrush pedal board. Let me tell you this, they are also amazing as vocal PA system.. loud, clear and punchy... for the money and for the fact they are about the size of a shoe box ... you would never ever expect to hear what comes out of these ... one word - SUPERB!!!!! We aren't just talking small venues either - I use the as my stage monitors but are a very trusty back up to my EV PA system.. this is how good they are!!!

Perfect for Home Amp Modelling and More
Using in small home studio with Atomic Amplifire 6, which also drives a DAW. Well built solid unit, produces authentic amp tones at low volume with contour on. Very little difference to recorded output and monitoring phones. Tried briefly at volume without contour and it stayed tight and accurate - it's loud! Should gig well. Vast improvement on studio monitors for playing feel, and thoroughly recommended.

Excellent Guitar Cab
This speaker sounds great with my Line 6 Pod Go. It performs great at low volume and has loads of headroom at higher volumes (I haven't had it past 4 yet as its really loud), don't be fooled by it's size it has some power behind it. Sound quality is great, clean tones have plenty of bottom end if you want it, and cranked it still has awesome clarity. Overall it just sounds great, I would recommend.

Also komm' Amazon, schick' mal so ein Ding her. So klein? Unfassbar! Wirklich unfassbar!

Consigliatissimo.
