Tried this for the first time this morning and had a bit of a disaster. Can anyone please post a recipe that works along with the settings & timings

Hi hope this will help 150gms S.R. flour, 1teaspoon baking powder, 1teaspoon caster sugar, 1 large egg 240 ml milk 1teaspoon vanilla. beat all together until smooth make sure waffle pan is hot I personally spray pan with small amount of fry light 1 cal but this is optional close lid of waffle pan and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, use on maximum heat, again hope this helps.

Is there a catch to hold the upper and lower plates together. Mine doesnt have one but the instructions say to ensure it is latched.

Just tried ours for first time and no latch… so as waffle cooks it pushes the plates apart as it rises. Not sure this is right. Also a nightmare to clean.

Are the plates fixed or can you take them out to clean. If fixed is it easy to clean?

Mine are Fixed. Only made 22 waffles so far, but cleans up like new every time; Easy

Is this Teflon or other toxic material?

'The use of Teflon in cookware products that includes perfluorooctanoic acid [PFAO] was outlawed internationally in 2019.' So no. And if it is. It will be safe.
