Clean, sustained energy & focus
I'm a person who has switched between different pre-workout supplements over and over again. Some left me feeling too jittery, to the point whereI became nauseated & it was difficult to focus on my workout. Others became weak over time as I built up tolerance to them. All the while, I hadn't been paying too much attention to what I was actually putting in my body. Many of the pre-workout supplements on the market are not much more than an overload of caffeine and beta-alanine which gives you a temporary rush of energy, followed by a major crash. In addition, the majority of them contain proprietary blends, meaning you don't truly know the amount of each ingredient. In my search for a "cleaner" pre-workout, I came across Vintage Blast. The price was right, there were no proprietary blends, and it had a great ingredient profile. The main ingredient is L-Citrulline Malate, which has been shown to improve blood levels of Arginine even better than supplementing Arginine itself. It also contains D-Aspartic Acid, a natural testosterone booster. I used the product for the first time today, and felt a world of difference compared to the pre-workout supplement I was previously using. Upon taking it & driving to the gym, I felt no jitters or uneasy feeling which is something I was used to with all pre-workouts. Once I stretched out and was ready to begin excercising, the energy and focus was there. After about 45 minutes, I still had a sustained level of energy, but would get additional "bursts" which I assume is the 2nd stage taking effect. I was able to push my workout harder with shorter rest periods in between. Vintage Blast is an excellent pre-workout that tastes amazing, and Old School Labs has undoubtedly gained my trust as a consumer. I look forward to trying out the rest of their product line.

Surpassed my expectations!!
I rarely write reviews but when something is absolutely great then I think it's worth a share. I sampled two other brands from a local store and almost concluded that preworkouts weren't for me since I've never tried them. One had no increase in energy and came with a stomach ache. Both gave me tingly face and that was highly annoying b/c I didn't know what was going on. First timer with preworkouts I went out on a limb and ordered vintage blast without sampling and I'm beyond pleased. I'll start with the texture/and flavour. The taste is FANTABULOUS (fantastic/fabulous). I was like wow what a treat, I think I entered a high from the taste alone. It's the most wonderful lemonade with a hint of blueberry that you'll ever taste, it mixes effortlessly as well. I threw mine back about an hour before my workout. Entered the gym and now it's time to go at it. I start with 4 sets of walking lunges and I'm sometimes weak by the second rep. I also add 30lbs total, dumbbells to intensify things. Well on the second set I looked at my legs like I must not b doing something right. I finished the last set and had no burn when I normally feel it around the 2nd set. I would guess and say 20 steps equal 1 set. So I'm impressed and on to squats. Well I'm psyched and sd this is the day that I'm gonna see if I can improve. Well I did and impressed myself with my first two sets of 140 squats. Yay me. On to leg press, knocked out with ease, no burn. Deadlifts, I always feel those but increased my weight by 10 for a totally of 75 lbs I think. I'm stoked!! Then I increase my cable kickbacks and on to extensions, curls, abductors and adductors. Never finished a leg routine with so much energy. I was super excited and knew that my future workouts would only improve things. Next day was shoulders, back, and biceps. I'll spare u the routine but I do about 16/17 exercises. So I'm there for a whole. I increased the weight on several and finished surprisingly strong. Been in the gym for almost 4 months, only been working out for a year. OVERALL: this product is great, no tingly face no rush, just this unexplainable energy like you've been renewed and ready to work. Absolutely no comedown and I slept as usual. Thanks for making an awesome product and I'm looking forward to trying others.

An honest, non-gushing review
I'm leary of the high praises people give supplements, especially pre-workouts. After lifting and having an intense fitness regimen for 15+ years, I've learned there is no magic pill or powder to change a person's physique or motivation: it only comes with hard work and self-discipline. Pre-workout is simply a small part of the game, and isn't necessary. However, they do give an edge in energy and focus, so they have their place. People are devout to the pre-workout of their choice, even if they don't know why or haven't tried others. You get a good feeling with one type and you feel like you can't go without it. I was devout to N.O. X-plode for a long time. But I like to mix it up and decided to try something else. With that, Vintage Blast works extremely well. I have tried a lot of pre-workouts, and this one gives me the energy and focus to workout all the way through tough days and still feel it afterwards. I don't get the itchy, crawly sensation as I did with other pre-workouts. I also don't get the post-workout crash where I have to sit around after a solid workout, which defeats the purpose of wanting to be active. And the flavor is really good, if you like sour lemonade. It's like a cheap, acceptable version of Country Time Lemonade mix, flavor-wise. Unfortunately, there are two reasons why I couldn't give this product a five-star rating: price and texture. The texture isn't a major issue because I've had worse; but it is gritty and doesn't completely mix, leaving the last few sips fulls of grit. It's like drinking a lemonade at the beach when people are flinging sand everywhere. Also, $39.99 for 20 servings is the most expensive pre-workout I've purchased. C4 and N.O. X-plode are cheaper per serving and the price is a huge consideration for me. I'd rather spend my money on life than a non-essential drink. There is no reason a pre-workout should cost $40 for less than a month worth of use. I don't see extreme benefits of this pre-workout that justifies the price. I can still use N.O. X-plode and get the same workouts and gains for half the price. I may buy Vintage Blast again but it will definitely not be my staple pre-workout. If the price would come down to the same price per serving as C4 or N.O. X-plode, I would definitely convert to Old School Labs as my go-to supplement. But I definitely like the feeling better than any other pre-workout. But just because I enjoy driving a Cadillac best, doesn't mean I am going to buy it when I can only afford a Honda. **Update** After my review, Old School Labs customer service contacted me regarding concerns and issues about the product. It is without a doubt that they stand behind their products and want to make sure they are working. I was very impressed with their customer service, and their willingness to discuss any issues. You can't go wrong with Old School Labs, as long as you can afford it.

Works great whether I'm weightlifting or doing cardio!
I recently tried the Old School Labs Ultimate 2 Stage Pre Workout, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. This pre-workout provides an incredible surge of energy. Within minutes, I felt more awake and ready to tackle an intense workout. The two-stage formula ensures a sustained release, so there was no sudden crash afterward. Along with physical energy, my mental focus sharpened significantly. It was easier to concentrate on my exercises and stay motivated throughout the session. Overall, the Old School Labs Ultimate pre-workout is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enhance their workout performance. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting, this product will help you push through and get the results you desire.

Mixes, tastes, digests, and performs very well. Similar to ON's Pre but trades D-Aspartic Acid for Creatine
I'm 30 yrs old, male, my interests related to your product preworkout are for powerlifting & cycling specifically time trialing. * I have no idea how you refer to one batch or one product of your preworkout. Bottle? Tub? I'm gonna go with tub. It just means your 1x20 serving preworkout. Preworkout Volume 7/10 - 20 servings which ends up being more like 15 I'm guessing if you heaping scoop is kinda low. I would really like a months supply in one tub, but I know that's a cost balance to appear to be cheaper or whatever. Just saying, one months supply in one tub is ideal for me. Taste - 9/10 , Your preworkout has a light taste with good texture and after taste. It's consistent in taste throughout my first sip to the last, the flavor I have is vintage blast LOT 1606366. Flavor - 10/10 Really enjoyed the flavor like I said it's light and not over powering but not bitter or sour (unless you do not add enough water). Something I think a lot of great preworkouts get wrong is not only how it tastes in one take but how you enjoy the product over time. For example, I really like MusclePharm's Assault preworkout I think the ingredients are mostly worth the costs and price is right and the flavor is even good. But after you drink one tub of the preworkout or even prior to a tub being completed I can barely bring myself to keep drinking it. I initially think the taste to be excellent until i've had it 20 times if this makes sense. I'm hoping Vintage Blast will be good for many tubs. Aftertaste - 8/10 , It is NOT chalky, bitter or sour. It is appealing and enjoyable if the water is cold enough. Mix-ability - 6/10 so far ( there is some of the powder which doesnt turn to solution as quickly as the rest of the scoop, I'm unsure what ingredient this would be ). I often have to pour more water and shake it again to get the everything. This is probably to me not using enough water. Ingredients. 8.5/10. I like the supporting micro's, why I ultimately bought your product was 5g of citrulline malate, 2g of dasparticacid, and 150mg +/- of caffeine with 25mg synephrine. I think 1g of beta alanine is very under dosed to have much effect, same with 1g of arginine and 250mg of carnitine. It's not obvious to me how that's useful in anyway but I also am not a Dr or have done enough research to build a supplement. What I would like to see is an option of added 3g creatine and another 1.5g of beta alanine. But the tingle effect from beta alanine could put some people off if they dont know what it is. Creatine is also extremely cheap and buying it seperate to add your own is easy. How I experience your product I'm not really sure how to break this down. .. It doesnt amp me up or get me motivated to go to the gym the way some preworkouts do, particularly c4 by cellucor. But once I'm there I have a great workout, much better than without it. I experience a good assisted energy for all my lifts. I do notice more concentration energy, and being maybe more vascular which I love. If my rep ranges and carbs were higher I'm sure the pump factor would be real.

My updated review. I felt the need to let you the consumer know all the facts first.
I initially gave this product a five star rating because I was excited by the all natural approach to pre workouts. I will continue to like this product because of that. There are just so many products out there that are riddled with sucralose and other artificial sugars that totally goes against the spirit of health and fitness. So using stevia, a plant substance, is ideal. Some others will use erithrotol, a non caloric sugar alcohol, and that's OK too. The taste is good, the solubility in water could be a little bit better, but nothing to get upset about, and the ingredients are all very good for the purposes of jacking you up and giving your body what it needs to get going into training mode. The reason I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 3 is simple. It's only 305 grams, or just over 10 ounces for nearly $40. Its introductory price of $45 ended and now boasts a new "regular" price of $55. They are not the only kids in town charging these prices, nor are they the only ones who gives you 21 days of product, not a full months worth. So I really can't single these folks out, as it's just sort of how they do business. But let me give it too you straight. You will at first love this product. It gets you going, tastes great, and because of the 2 separate kinds of caffeine used you get the initial amp, then the sustained amp after the microcrystalline caffeine has time to break down, thus giving you the proprietary "2 stage" effect they're going for. After a week or so of use you will no doubt need more product to keep the amp, and you'll more than likely use a bit more than directed to keep you going. Before you know it your "21 day supply" is out at day 15, and you'll order more because it is good stuff! They'll give you a couple discount codes to keep you coming back and in a couple months you'll still like the product but you're running out. Like a coke head who's gotta get a bump before hitting the weights, you'll spend too much of your hard earned dollars, only to eventually do what I did, stray into the arms of another, or buy these same ingredients in bulk right here on Amazon and say goodbye to the overpriced pusher man! Don't get me wrong, they've been nice to me and I like their products. I just got tired of needing more to sustain me, and the price associated with something that, if researched carefully and adhered to strictly, you could make yourself as all these ingredients are readily available. But, if you want a good product and can afford to throw your money into an endless sea of products be my guest. There are only a few brands out there that truly subscribe to the natural approach, these guys being one of them. I feel they are earnestly making a quality product. But, capitalism is a bitch, and making money and maximizing profits will always be at the front of the priorities with all companies. I believe that they could sell this product for $25 and still reap awesome earnings, but that's just the humble opinion of a 41 year old man who's seen a thing or two. I will give them a better review, as with the other brands, when they stop ripping off the populace and start selling this stuff for what it's worth. You will see each ingredient in bulk is not expensive. You will spend more initially if you go the bulk route, and can risk endangering yourself if you don't do it properly. But if you have a flare for detail and know what you're doing, you'll get a lot further with your money and your workouts. If you don't have the time or inclination buy this product, it's good. Just remember that in this dreadful economy you're spending a half day's pay for this stuff, maybe a little less, and you're gonna need to buy more before you know it. If you mix yourself you can get good at playing around with just the right amount of caffeine that is good for you. But remember, powdered caffeine is extremely dangerous and must be mixed with expert care. There are actually naturally derived caffeines from coffee and tea that are safer at home, and aren't made in a lab. Now you have all the facts in making an informed decision. Now go out and get your workout on!

Stable product, good energy, and no major increase in heart rate.
Bought this after specifically looking for pre-workouts that would not make me jittery during a workout session, yet keep me stably focused, awake, and moving during my workout. I bought this product on September 15th and used it for about two weeks -- workout buddy and I would take a scoop each, and I bought the 20 servings size -- until September 29th. You will notice on the photo attached that my heart rate peaked at the same rate as when I did not drink the pre-workout, but I am unsure whether or not the range of my bpm was shortened as a result of the pre-workout (not decipherable from the photo). I did notice I sweat a bit more profusely during workouts that I took this product, but that should be expected from the caffeine content. I also found myself drinking more water during, and after the workout, but I find this favorable and nice- despite the almost always need to pee after the workout. Taste-wise, it is not the worst pre-workout I have tasted, but it certainly isn't the very best either. If mixed with small amounts of water (only a few cups) you should expect some poor solubility. When powder does accumulate at the bottom you should expect a very hard-hitting bitter taste. When mixed properly with more water this isn't so much of an issue- the powder dissolves completely, and the shake tastes more like some sort of candy that sells out because it is somehow weirdly bitter and sweet together. I don't use shake cups but rather a metal water bottle, so that might have affected the rate of solubility. The price of the product is a bit questioning as it is one of the more expensive pre-workouts on Amazon at $3.70/ounce. It's competing with products that are $1.48/ounce (Gold Standard), $1.42/ounce (Kaged Muscle), and even $0.09/ounce (C4). I'm personally not an expert in these products formula but I think it is safe to assume that other formulas are just as good as this one but cheaper. I'll be looking for an alternative in the meantime, but overall, I was very happy with the product in general. If the price was dropped, I would certainly purchase this again.

New Formula Change = Bad Taste + Lost The Energy Boost + Shrink-flation compared to the Old Formula
I just ran out of my "black top" "Old Formula" Blueberry Lemonade canister and just opened and prepared a batch of the new "White top" "New Formula" of Blueberry Lemonade. This is a huge disappointment. The flavor profile is way too sweet and nothing like the old formula. It also has a really unpleasant artificial sweetener after-taste that the old "black-top" formula didn't have. Additionally, the effect has totally changed. There is no immediate "lift" in energy that I got with the old formula. Everything I bought the old formula for has now changed and for the worse. Also they have decreased the volume of the container from 10.8 oz (old black top formula) to 8.5 oz (new white top formula) and simply accompanied the new container/formula with a smaller scoop. See how that works? You still get 20 scoops (servings) per container but the actual volume of the scoop has decreased. Even using the old bigger scoop I did not feel the effects of the old formula. This is really disappointing. I no longer like the taste and for some reason I don't feel the usual "boost" in energy I have reliably always felt for the past 7 years. Historically, this is a major problem...with manufacturers that create a successful formula and a large, long-term following feel the need to "tweak" the formula in order for some marketing or "product-research" employee to justify their salary. Just like Coca Cola that revised a successful formula to "stay current" but had such a backlash that they had to re-release the original formula under "coke classic", it sadly appears these vendors will never learn. My profile says that I have purchased this product/flavor 87 times! That's brand loyalty! Why can't you be loyal to your customers and keep the old formula that they love? Why do you feel the need to tweak things, only to diminish a great product? I will be contacting the company for a refund and will begin an unfortunate search for a new pre-workout. This is so unnecessary. Companies will never learn this simple lesson.
