Will it work for yamaha apx500 iii?

I installed one in a 25-year-old Yamaha acoustic and it works great but I did have to sand it down so it was shorter and thinner. You should remove the plastic saddle and measure it first. If it’s close to the bone saddle dimensions you should carefully sand down the bone saddle until it fits properly without getting stuck. Good luck

Will this fit my Yamaha A1M?

It probably will but not without modification. On my Yamaha FG-TA it fit nice and snug thickness wise but I still had to do a little sanding off both sides because these saddles are generous in length and I had to sand some off the bottom to get the action I liked. It made my guitar brighter sounding.
