Pretty good, crisp screen. But...
Really good screen, super easy to put up (mount) easy to pull down for viewing, and retraction is pretty smooth. Yes, the ends do slightly roll over, bit no issue. It is slightly wavy, but not noticeable when viewing. It will blow around if you mount it next to an AC vent. (Deflector fixed that) Theese types of screens are on the more budget friendly side. (Not the brand, the style). After a while they will krinkel up from pulling it down and up. It's common for any brand. But ya know what. Just buy another one after a few years or so. Or spend the thousand dollars on a tention style pull down screen which this brand does offer

Nice screen for the money
Elite Screens M106UWH Manual Projection Screen (106 inch 16:9 AR) I purchased this screen three weeks ago and so far I must say I like it quite well. I purchased it to replace my original 100" DIY screen which I had constructed from some instructions I found on a popular projector review site; it consisted of a wood frame covered in black felt with white seamless background paper (used in photography) stapled to the back. It did me well for six years or so, but unfortunately over time the paper sagged and developed large wrinkles which caused some distortion and "waving" of the image, especially during static scenes and scrolling film credits. I have some of the background paper left over so I could have replaced it, but instead I thought I should look at a better solution. I purchased Elite Screens model M106UWH which is a 106 inch 16:9 AR manual projection screen. Before I made the purchase I read many reviews, both positive and negative on many of Elite Screen's products. Most of the negative reviews had to do with problems with the retraction mechanism jamming or breaking. Since there were far more positive than negative reviews, I figured I'd give it a try. I paid $125 for it including my state sales tax and since it was Prime eligible, I didn't pay anything for shipping. When it arrived the box had a couple holes in it and a few serious dents and I was certain the screen had been damaged during shipping, but on inspection there was a enough spacing with the foam packing spacers that it was fine. Pros: I was surprised to find the main housing was metal; for the price I thought it would be plastic. I have found the retraction mechanism to be very smooth; I had no problem pulling down the screen, locking it into several positions, and then releasing and having it retract. So far the mechanism seems pretty solid. Since I'm going to be leaving my screen down this isn't a big deal to me, but having read many other customer reviews it's important to a lot of other purchasers. The contrast and overall sharpness are better than my original screen. It's not a huge difference, but enough to be noticeable. I think it is a bit more neutral in color balance as well. It is also a bit brighter, but that wasn't really an issue since my home theatre is in a darkened basement; I have to turn DOWN the brightness a bit to get the image adjusted correctly. Cons: The included documentation is terrible! It consisted of a Screen Material Disclaimer sheet, which told me about "memory lines", a 'Universal Projector Mount' rebate form, an 'In-Wall Switch Rebate' form, an 'Elite Screens' brochure AND a single sheet about the 'On-Line User Guide or Download'. Since the User Guide is all of eight pages, and the Dimension sheet just a single page, would it have been that difficult to include? Evidently so; you'll have to go to their website to get that info. While the Dimension Table sheet is quite extensive in giving you just about every measurement you could want or need about their product, to me there were three major problems: 1) The most important dimension, the distance between the wall mounting holes on the end caps was not even included! The measurement you need to determine where you are going to put the screws in your wall so you can mount the screen doesn't exist; you'll have to measure (or calculate) that yourself. 2) The Dimensions Table is in Decimal and not Fractional inches. Excuse me? The vast majority of us that have a tape measure don't have one that is graduated in tenths and hundredths of inches; I know they are available but most people don't own one. 3) The end cap measurements on the Dimension Table sheet are in Metric and not US/Imperial measurements - even more math that will have to be done to get mounting screws aligned correctly. Installing it by myself was a little bit of a challenge; after I measured the placement of the drywall anchor screws (see the Cons) and installed them, it took a bit of effort to lift and align the screen with the screws to attach it to the wall. Even though the screen weighs only 21 pounds, lifting that above your head and trying to get two small holes on either side of the housing to line up with the anchor screws in the wall is difficult. I managed it after a few tries, but I'd recommend having someone else handy to assist you mounting the screen. Overall I'm very happy with this screen and I have no problem recommending it. The edge curls and "waves" others have complained about with the various models of the Elite Screens I have not experienced with mine. Also the smell others have complained about in other reviews I have not experienced. Initially there was a smell similar to a vinyl window shade, but it dissipated within a day, so I can't complain.

Great mid range manual screen
We bought the 150” manual screen. After lots of research, the price was a great value. It comes boxed securely. It needs special delivery, but all was coordinated easily thanks to Amazon and the delivery systems they have automated. As others have mentioned, the 150” model is large and takes two people to hang. I used two strong 2” screws and mounted using the two screw holes in the corners. It only took about 10 mins to hang the screen. The screen is a definite upgrade from what we had before (a thin / stretchable white screen - appx $ 30 on Amazon - that we attached via wall pegs). It’s hard to quantify how much it improves the quality, but the screen makes the projected image look better. And while it’s not “ALR” it seems to handle room / sun light better. Also, it looks a lot more professional than a stretchy wall screen. While this is not the highest end option, for the money, if you need a manually retractable screen, you will be happy with the screen and picture quality. We certainly are. We feel it’s a big upgrade for our modest home theater system / movie room.

Rippled Screen & Refused Replacement
This was the 2nd Elite screen that I have purchased. The first on in 2020, and it had developed too many wrinkles, and the ends had worked loose. The ends worked loose within the first few months, but the screen was only $120 so I didn't bother with any warranty. This one that I purchased was $260, and they just jacked the price up to $400 in the last few days. I installed the screen to their specifications, and it had a few wrinkles and warped edges. I gave it a few weeks to see if it would straighten, and it did a tiny bit, but was still unacceptable for an almost $300 screen. I started the return and replacement process, only to have the first screen picked up earlier than it was supposed to have been, and the replacement screen was then all of the sudden delayed. After weeks of contacting Amazon, and multiple delivery dates come and gone, I was told the package could not be delivered and no replacement screen could be sent to me. I argued that it said "Prime" and "Free Returns" when I ordered it, and only afterward had it changed to just "Free Returns". Amazon, as usual, made up for the bad seller and refunded me all of my money and then some for the inconvenience. But the seller clearly pulled one over on me and didn't want to pay for shipping to send me a replacement. I just ordered and received the Akia, 125" motorized screen and love it! I definitely will not order from Elite anymore. Especially since they just jacked their price up over 30%.

Solid Performance At a Super Price
Purchased this screen as an upgrade from another manual pull down screen. We moved our projector and needed a larger screen size. At first I was shocked to see how expensive +125 inch 16:9 format screens were going for, then I found this item. Comparing other screens of a similar size this item is literally $100s ofdollars cheaper. Of course I was concerned the quality of the screen may not be great, as the saying goes "You Pay for what You Get". I made the decision to pull the trigger and buy the item as I was much more willing to pay $212 for a screen then $800+. Please keep in mind if you ship the item "Standard" it ships freight. Fed Ex called me a day before to arrange delivery, because they considered it a "Freight" item. I had some concerns with an item of this size (length) in a freight truck that it could be damaged. Once the item was delivered I inspected before signing the paperwork. The box was a little dinged up (crushed corner) but the item had sustained no damage. The until was very easy for 2 people to carry inside. Once out of the box the first thing I noticed was the item does not come with any type of "Hardware" for mounting. It does have a "Mounting Plate" on each side at the side that gives you the ability to Flush Mount into a ceiling / stud, and 2 holes you could use to install additional hardware to suspend mount if you choose. There were no screws however. No worries as I had some spares in the tool box. I elected to flush mount into a stud. You will want AT LEAST 2 people to help you while you mount. The item is not really heavy but its just so big, more hands is more helpful. Once installed I pulled the screen down and took a first look. I could see no material defects with the screen of any type. Did notice a "Plastic" smell (that went away after about 12-24 hrs). Screen pulled down smoothly. We do not put our screen up, so really it was pull down and forget. Movies / Xbox / Streaming from Laptop all looks great on this screen. Video quality is very good, I am above satisfied with its performance. Only reason I did not give this item 5 stars is I have noticed after about a week the screen has started to wrinkle in the bottom, to the left of the handle. My wife and friends don't notice it, but I do. You can really only see it when something is projected over that area that is very dark, and the wrinkle is about 3 inches in length. Its not a big enough deal to cause me to try and return it however. I would recommend this item to anyone who needs a screen this size and would not hesitate to purchase another one of these units myself. They are almost giving it away at the price of $212, do not over think this purchase, save yourself some big money!

Took a gamble and it paid off....excellent screen
I had a dedicated theater room with a fixed screen that I needed to make more toddler friendly. I came to the tough decision of turning the dedicated theater room into a general media room. I had to get rid of the fixed screen and get a pull up screen so I can place a tv behind it to watch. Initially, I was scared off from manual screens by all the talk of waves in the screens. Some had even mentioned that the screens were wavy the instant they put it up. I decided to take a chance and purchase this to see how bad it was. I installed it last night, and I'm happy to report that there were no waves at all. The screen was perfect. I cant speak for its longevity, but I hope it remains this way. I was also concerned about going from my fixed screen, which has a 1.3 gain, to this one which is 1.1 gain. Again, I'm happy to report that it made no difference and the picture looked just as good, if not better, than the screen I was using. The screen was very easy to install, but I do have to give a couple of negative remarks. First, it doesnt come with parts to hang the screen on the ceiling. This was a little annoying to find out. You get excited and want to hang it up quickly, only to find out you need to run to home depot to buy a chain or hook to hang from the ceiling. Even with wall mounting, you still need to go out and purchase screws. Nothing major, but very annoying. The second thing is the screen does have an odor to it. Its nothing that will make you sick, but it is there. I'm hoping it doesnt last long. All in all, I was very surprised and pleased with the screen. For the cost, you cant beat it. My fixed screen, which I made myself, cost me almost as much as this one did. UPDATE: Well, it didnt take long to start developing waves. I had pretty much left the screen down and it was fine. Once I started to retract it and leave it retracted, i noticed waves starting to develop. Was hoping it would take longer than a couple of weeks for this to happen....

120 Inch Black Border 16:9 Model
Shipment arrived a whole day early, which was a pleasant surprise! The screen itself was packaged in a long rectangular box. The unit inside was padded by 4 foam squares with holes in the middle to wrap around the metal shaft. Not much in the way of protection, honestly. This was apparent when I unboxed the screen and noticed a very small dent on the front of the metal shielding. Fortunately, this did not translate into screen damage. The top shaft is comprised of thin textured sheet metal. Despite it being light enough for one person to carry, I'd highly recommend having two people lift this so it doesn't accidentally become bent. As for the screen itself, I'm incredibly happy with it. Fortunately, this unit's screen has no creases or wrinkles to speak of. The black side borders near the bottom curled slightly inward, but after about an hour of being rolled out, it went away entirely. I'll chalk that up to the screen being rolled up since production. I do not plan on rolling this screen up very often, so I can't speak for the build quality of the rolling mechanism itself. I had no issues locking the screen into a desirable position. There is plenty of extra border above the screen if you'd like to roll it as low as it can possibly go, but I settled on just a couple inches for a more uniform look. I'm using a BenQ W770ST 720p Short Throw DLP Projector with this, and the picture quality is fantastic. We have a manilla wall behind the screen which we were originally using our projector on for testing/measurement purposes, and the difference is in visual clarity is night and day. Colors are bright, white balance is excellent, and the screen itself serves as a window to visual content without making itself apparent during viewing. I don't think I can ask for much more than that! Keep in mind that the 120 Inch 16:9 model of this screen is VERY long. 111 Inches wide, with only 2 mounting holes on the far left/right ends of the top shaft for wall mounting. Still, these general wall-mounting tips might be benefitial to you, regardless of screen size. For ours, we bought a 114 inch 1x4 Wooden Plank at a hardware store and hung it by drilling two 5 inch wood-screws into every stud inside the wall for support. We then partially drilled two 3 inch wood screws near each end of the plank to hang the mount. It has held up very securely and shows no signs of sagging or wobbling, even though the 2 mounting screws the screen hangs off of aren't drilled directly into studs. You could consider a 2x4 instead of a 1x4 if stability is a concern, but we've had no issues thus far. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with this screen and am looking forward to many movie nights to come!

Great customer service and great screen
Installed the 150" screen over my garage door and set up a quick movie (rhymes with "Blinding Temo") just to see how it would look with some ambient light still. As you can see - even with the sun setting behind me, there was PLENTY of contrast and overall picture quality got a lot of "wows" from the neighbors. Two of their kids grabbed chairs and just posted up for the duration. I'd say that's an instant-win. The screen initially didn't retract all the way and was veeery slow to go back up. I contacted Elite Screens customer service and they sent me the instructions to add tension back into the rod. Took me 5 minutes with an extra set of hands from my wonderful wife. Tossed it back up and *boom*, worked like a charm. Retracts fully unassisted at a reasonable pace and locks in place. I was able to pull it down and have it "lock in" at plenty of intervals (maybe around an inch per "step"?), so I wasn't sure what the other reviewers were having trouble with...mine dialed in nicely. I'd say it's a genuine win. Good customer service (they got back to me in less than a day) and good quality screen for the money. Neighborhood movie night and game night just went to a whole new level.

Very nice screen
I am very pleased with this product. It reflects the projector image nicely, it is not too bright or dim. Once extended, the screen stays flat without any wrinkles or waves. My HD projector's image is looking significantly different on this screen than on the wall. It is quite light and very easy to install - I did it by myself, without any help and it took me less than 5 minutes. The only downside is the synthetic-plastic smell that comes off the screen first few days so you need to vent the room well or you may get an headache. I would recommend this screen to anyone who is looking for a good quality product at a reasonable price.

Meine erste Leinwand

Awful experience
Received a duplicate item with no logo, no brand. When I tried to return it, I needed to pay the shipping costs. Waste of money. Duplicate local item is sent, and returning it costs more.
