5m Retractable Dog Lead

Much stronger than the last one I bought. It was super value for the money paid. My dog is a puller so it has proved its worth as it is still going strong.

Really like that it's light. The cable can tangle and have a knot but easy to fix. I'm new to using any lead so no comparison but it is quite silentish and does not drag pet back if accidentally unlock for withdrawal. I gave only 4 stars for everything on detail purely because I have no experience to do comparison. Addition: after using it for months I have to admit that majority of the time I'm struggling with the locking mechanism. It either stuck or when I think it is set it unlocks. Let me put it this way: I will not replace it unless it breaks but I will not buy it again. The tape style string can burn your hand if your pet shoots out and you were holding it - but I don't think it is a fault just mentioning in case you are tempted. I still do but now I know if that happens then I just let it go. 😜

Lead mechanism was quite noisy initially and the plastic felt slightly flimsy - but after a couple of months of use it seems fine.

Very good extension lead, got this tape lead to replace an old tape/string lead, glad I did, better control with no rope “burns”. Well made and sturdy, retracts easily and with no tangles as yet

Really comfortable to carry as it is light weight. No problems and works as expected. Very good.

I’ve had this lead since December, so not long walking down the road with my Rottweiler who’s only 30 kg she died across the road press the button to stop it and it didn’t work it seized and snapped could’ve killed my dog very busy road not fit for purpose do not buy this lead

Sturdy good looking lead but I dont think it’s for small dogs, the tension is too strong. The point of a retractable lead marketed for a small dog is that there is less tension on the lead than for a larger weighted dog. This lead has a much tension on the collar as one of my larger retractable leads for 20kg plus dogs.

Liked the compactness of the lead- not too large and cumbersome for a small to medium dog. Good value as well . Thanks

absolutely fantastic durability

I've been using this dog leash for years now, and I have to say, it's been excellent value for money. I have a large dog, and this leash has been perfect for him. It's sturdy, reliable, and can handle his strength with ease. One of the best features of this leash is that it truly is tangle-free. I've had other retractable leashes in the past that always seemed to get tangled, but I've never had that issue with this one. It retracts smoothly and without any fuss, making our walks much more enjoyable. The one-hand brake feature is also really convenient. It allows me to easily control my dog with just one hand, which is great when I need to quickly rein him in. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this leash. It's durable, reliable, and has stood the test of time. I would highly recommend it to any dog owner looking for a quality retractable leash at a great price.

Bad quality

I retired recently and started taking 3 walks a day. I have 3 dogs ranging from 15 to 90 lbs & each dog gets 1 walk per day. My old Flexi leash is 20+ years old and wasn't designed for large dogs so I opted to buy a replacement. There are so many options with a range in prices. Initially, I opted for a brand (not this one) that also makes other pet items and the brand name was familiar to me. That leash only lasted 5 months until it locked permanently and I had to throw it away. I will compare this new leash to the known brand which I had to throw away. Immediately, this leash felt sturdy, with a nice weight in my hand. The other brand felt cheap, lightweight, and flimsy. This leash strap pulls in and out with ease as my dogs run around & explore. The other leash felt flimsy as it pulled in and out and I questioned when it would stop retracting. (The old leash permanently locked itself after only 5 months of use.) The button to stop the leash and release it is comfortable to push and release as I control my dogs while walking. Someone's review said the button was awkward, which I found the opposite to be true. Also, my other leash kept auto-locking when the dogs jerked it or I pulled quickly due to an upcoming hazard. Auto-locking is unsafe and you lose control right when you need it. This leash's button pushes and releases naturally to give you the control exactly when you need it. It seems sturdy and long-lasting. The other one kept auto-locking until it auto-locked permanently after only 5 months of use. I haven't used the lock on this leash as I rarely find that feature necessary. I only use an extendable leash when I want to allow my dogs freedom to run, but still be safe. I use a regular leash / lead for more controlled situations (groomer, vet's office, etc.). If you have a chewer, this leash does come with a short extension that is chew-proof to attach at the end of the leash. I haven't used it as I don't need it, but it certainly would come in handy with a new puppy learning to walk on a leash. I've only used it for 5 walks so far, but I really feel it'll last.
