Mario Party DS [video game]

I am a 13 year old video-gamer, and have been playing this game since I was 9. IT IS REALLY FUN!! Especially if you have friends or family with a ds. With the multiplayer feature you can play with or against them ( you can only imagine the battling family feud memories I have with this game)!! This game is not quick to finish, very long, but it never gets boring! Extremely fun mini games! The game is about playing a board game against 3 to 1 opponents. Who ever gets the most stars ( bought or earned ) wins. There are many different games, puzzles, and obstacles. It is also helpful that if your playing against a computer, you can control them to Easy, Normal, Hard, or Expert. Your choice depends on how good you are. It's very helpful because if you work up to being an Expert in the game, you won't be forced to do the same easy stuff over and over. I totally recommend trying against harder opponents. This game is all about challenge. It takes awhile to unlock Expert. All in all, this is extremely fun for months and years of gameplay. I really do recommend it. Pros: - never bores - lasts for years - multiplayer feature allows you to go against you friends and family's ds - you can become any character (I have no idea why it's called MARIO party ds. It should be called EVERYONE party ds, but that's not quite as catchy is it?) Cons: NONE! :) BONUS PRO........ Peach isn't the damsel in distress because you can be any character, you can even use her to defeat Bowser at the end! :)

I bought this game for my sister’s birthday since we used to play it all the time. But she lost it. So I bought her a new one and the game works great. Theres no lag and you can play it with no problem. Its also a really fun game to play with friends and family members.😃

I've played lots of the "main" Mario games, but this is my first time playing a Mario Party. It's great fun! And while most of the other Mario games get kind of lame when you go multiplayer, this one is even MORE fun to play with others, which you can do with just one game card. Pros: Most of the features are available for DS download play with just one game card. This game is simple enough for kids to grasp, but fun enough for adults to want to finish. The game isn't difficult by any means, so if you want the arcade challenge you get from other Mario games, this probably isn't for you. Still, this gives you a sense of competitiveness absent from other Mario games, even when you're just playing against the computer. It also has great replay value, since it's never quite the same game twice. Several different modes of game play are available so that any player is sure to find one they like. Cons: It would be nice if there were more boards available, since you get through the five included pretty quickly. That said, you still have to play each one several times before you get tired of it. The puzzles included in "puzzle mode" are also painfully dull and simple, so that mode has little value. Also, if you don't have someone else who has a DS that you can play this with, you'll probably get tired of it more quickly. Bottom line: Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone of any age, particularly if you have someone you can play it with! My only genuine complaint about the game is that there's not enough of it!

I have played Mario Party on the Nintendo, but have not had one in a long time. This game is almost as good as the original. My sister and I both love playing this game. When I first got the game in the mail, I put it in my new 3ds and it didn't recognize the game. I was a bit upset because I knew it wasn't my DS because it was brand new. It turns out that the game needed to be cleaned. I put some window cleaner on a napkin and cleaned the back of the cartridge and it worked fine afterward. I love the game!

As a DIE-HARD fan of the "Super Mario Bros" franchise, I've played pretty much every single Mario Bros. game imaginable ! The "Mario Party" games dating back to the very first edition in 1998 to the N64 are among my favorites and the storylines can be quite entertaining ! Mario Party DS is a fun, entertaining game U can play anytime, anywhere. The Story Modes are simple (play as Mario, Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, or Wailuigi) but very challenging when it comes to battling the bosses on each board. The Party Mode, U pick whatever board U want to play and set the number of turns U want ("Bowser's Pinball Machine" can't be played in the Party Mode until after you've defeated Bowser in the Story Mode) and each board features an item shop where U can purchase items to help U along the way. The mini-games are fun and sometimes challenging and U can actually practice a mini-game so U can get the hang of it. "Mario Party DS" is a PARTY load of fun right there in the palm of your hand !

I grew up with this game so playing it has been so nostalgic feeling. In terms of the quality of the game card, it works well. Nothing too negative to say about it.

I do not suggest buying used games. I've had issues getting them to work on my Nintendo DSi. I bought Mario Kart which was the only one that worked first try. I later bought Mario 64 and Kirby Super Star Ultra from two different carriers and both read "please insert card in slot" when there was in fact a game card in the slot. I got replaced with another that didn't work, then got refunded but it was still disappointing. I ended up just going to my local GameStop for replacements. I decided to give it another try by purchasing Mario Party DS and it turned out to not work as well. All of my other games work just fine but it seems that whenever I buy a used game from Amazon it does not seem to work. I wonder if I'm the only one who has faced this problem...

The minigames and overall concept are very cleverly crafted and well thought out. It's really fun to play with other people too, but even if you're on your own, there's still lots to do.

Great side game that has a twist from the normal Mario Bros game play. The Mario gang are shrunk to miniature by Bowser's ray gun and have to make their way through giant board games to get to Bowser. You can play the story line as any one of a number of characters including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, Yoshi and others. Once you have completed the story you can go back and do it all over again with another character as well as playing a number of side games. There are literally hundreds of minigames to try and thousands of acheivements to unlock. Endless fun and simple enough for young children to play.
