Works great for my 1950 Singer Featherweight and 1905 Singer 66
Nice and bright! These lamps work great for my 1950 Singer Featherweight and with my antique 1905 Singer 66. The magnet sticks firmly to the metal faceplate, but doesn't scratch. The cord was easily tucked along the back of the machine and does not get in the way at all. I was very pleased with the brightness of these lamps, I find a lot of LED lamps are not as bright as they claim, or have so many bulbs that they cast weird shadows. These lamps make a nice bright, shadowfree light source that I can aim exactly where I need it most. Other brands of sewing machine lamps require adhesive to mount, which might damage your paint finish or decals on a vintage machine. The magnetic mount on this is very strong, and smooth, so I am not worried about scratching up the chrome endplate on my machines. I chose the black lamp option, and looks pretty good with my featherweight machine. The removable magnetic mount works great when I box up my featherweight and take it to retreats, and it fits nicely in the case so I don't forget it. I'd give it 10 stars if I could! This is a great value, so many Featherweight accessories get upcharged because it is a niche collectors market. If you're considering these for a Featherweight, just get them. The only drawback is yes, you will have one more thing to plug in when you go quilting, but I found that it was actually easier than charging a battery operated lamp (which might not stay bright the whole time you are sewing), and / or fiddling around with USB blocks and USB cords.

My Wife Loves These and Was Very Pleased That I Gave Them to Her
My wife was complaining about how difficult it was to get enough light right where she wanted it on her sewing machine. This was before Christmas, so I suddenly knew what I would get her for Christmas (or at least one of the things!). I found these lights and was especially impressed that I could get four of them for not much more than one of many others. So I bought them. They work wonderfully well! The base of the lamp contains a strong magnet that will stick to any magnetized surface. Unfortunately, the outside of my wife's sewing machine is mostly plastic and the magnet only stuff to one, not so useful place. BUT the manufacturer of these lights have planned for that. Along with the lamps come adhesive backed metal plates that you can stick on exactly where you want them to go. They hold on extremely well and now you can attach the lamp to that plate, and everything is fine. The light is very bright, the cord is long and the switch easily accessed. There's nothing not to like with these lights.

Amazing little lights, true color
Spouse is a machine shop hobbyist, I do various art and accessories. Both of us needed some task/spot lighting with true daylight, and were both tired of USB plug in or wall wart charger type ones. Ordered one set of these. Smaller than expected but they plug into 110. Okay, turn it on. WOW. Bright. Nice true daylight. We each took one to experiment with. For small task area lighting, wonderful. The base magnet is powerful and it STICKS. No wobbly clamp or clip. Downside, it does need iron/steel metal to stick to. There are provided tiny circles with some awesome 3M glue, one for each. SO they can be put somewhere non metallic as long as you make sure that is where you want it, prep the surface, and glue the disk on (peel and stick and there is a 2 sided glue on disk, and a metal disk to stick to that that has one side covered with a blue protective plastic film that comes off easy. So peel, stick, peel, peel off the blue, stick the metal, and attach the light). It works in the bathroom for a 'leave on nightlight' that is put in the right place to allow one to do whatever they need to do at 2 am. Lighting up a small work area next to my computer for night time close up work. Lighting up where a line up of a tool for shop work (band saw, miter saw, drill press). Put one under a metal workbench to light up to find stuff dropped into the black hole under there. Next to sewing machine to add enough light to see.... list goes on and on. One day of us both experimenting and I ordered more sets. Only thing I don't know is how well they will hold up, yet. Both in shop and in house, but. Will update on that later. Well worth it per unit. Note that the gooseneck is quite flexible but somewhat 'short' so it does have to be close to the place to illuminate. Base is plastic, bottom has the honking strong magnet (not so strong that one has to be careful about being between it and metal), gooseneck is metal, head is plastic. It doesn't really want to sit stable by itself, it is meant to be stuck down to metal in some way. Not recommended for high humidity or wet situations or conditions, it's not water resistant or proof. Head does heat up, I can wrap hand around it, but it maybe should be kept away from small kids and pets.

Very bright, strong magnet, inexpensive.
When I first saw how small this gooseneck lamp was, I didn't expect how well it would work. The light source is less than 1 inch wide and about 3 inches long. The gooseneck part is only 7 inches long. I put it on the tailstock of my full-size, Jet lathe while I turned a 20 inch long furniture leg. That little lamp lit up the entire work piece and never moved from the tailstock even though the tailstock is round. It has one strong magnet! A set of discs are supplied with adhesive on their backs in case you need to mount this lamp on a non-ferrous metal. The gooseneck is too short to attach it to base of the tool rest or to the lathe rails. A longer gooseneck would make this lamp more versatile as would a longer power cord, which is only 52 inches long. Other than that, I highly recommend this lamp. After using the lights 2 weeks, one of them failed. When switching that one on, it would like intermittently and would sometimes making a hissing sound. I was using it on top of the tail-stock of a Chinese mini-lathe while turning brass. The brass particles were flying everywhere and some of them could have gotten into the mini-toggle switch. I asked for a replacement and (both were replaced) received it 2 days later. The other LED light is on my wood lathe and it gets vacuumed frequently. After receiving the replacements, I placed a piece of packing tape over the switches in the on position. I'll just plug them in when I need to use them. I took one point off from the overall rating because of this. I still recommend these. They are otherwise very good.

Best Light for Vintage Sewing Machines
Wow! these lights are so great! They have circular 2 sided tape incuded - one side is put onto your sewing machine, other side attaches to a metal plate, which is also included. The light then has a magnet attached, which securely attaches to the metal plate. I attachedto the side near the sewing machine's on/off switch. then the flexible lamp stand can reach around back side of machine, lighting up your workspace/ stitches. Bright LED light! Especially handy with vintage machines, which only have incandescent lights build in.

Cordless, no wall outlet needed
Smart product, great price. LED lights are the best for crafting. These come with circular pads to fix to your chosen base and to make magnetic for light base to attach to. Mine are used on sewing machines and serger. The trick is in finding the best place to attach the light where it will do the most good. Reasonable price for three lights. Recommend

Many Posible Uses
I ordered a few of these for my home skate sharpener, grinder and every once in awhile for a car repair. The magnet makes the mounting convenient. Only drawback is the cord, but have battery ones also. Overall great product.

Perfect for focused high intensity lighting.
This product is meant to brightly illuminate a focused work area and it does just that, plus at this price you get 2 of them which is a fantastic value. The magnetic base is also specifically designed to attach to a ferrous metallic device, and it does so strongly, which again has great functionality; it also comes with round adhesively-backed mounting plates in case one wants to stick it on a non-metallic surface (I didn't try them, so I don't know how well the tape sticks). The flexible swan neck is sturdy, easily directed into position, and faithfully stays in place, and the lamp head has excellent focused directionality. If one wants a highly spot illuminated work area, there is no point to look any further, especially at this bargain price, just keep in mind that while it does what it does extremely well, there aren't any additional quality of life features at this price; for instance, it doesn't dim, and the base would not have good stability if not magnetically stuck onto either a ferrous metallic surface or the adhesive metal plates, which is perfectly acceptable given its specifically designed functionality. As for alternate uses, while I might imagine that one could use this for night reading, it provides a quite bright white light that I don't feel would be relaxing on the eyes, and mounting the relatively heavy base might be problematic with the limited length of the flexible swan neck. I have only had it for under a week, so if it malfunctions I will amend this review appropriately.
