Potent smell. Try to carry some in a small container instead of tossing on ground
Before purchase I read the reviews which were all over the place -some said it worked great, some said it didn’t- The way I use this cedar is to have a small container of it and carry it around while weeding, give it a shake every so often to release the cedar oils. This has been working pretty well, doesn’t deter all of the mosquitos but a great improvement. At first I tossed handfuls around the area I was working in but then what a waste, right? So I tried the “carry and shake” idea and it works! And I’ve not lost any by tossing it on the ground. Very potent smell, will last a while doing it this way. Also want to try to make a small burner for some of it, like incense, smoke keeps mosquitos away too.

I spread this over the area where my dog likes to sun herself in the backyard. She’s gotten a couple stings from fire ants. (I really hate those things!!!) I have a hard time keeping my Texas doggie girl from sunning herself when she wants to go out in the yard. The granules last longer than the sprays (which are still great, BTW). This is a definite deterrent and after spreading a generous amount in those areas, she hasn’t suffered any stings or bites from anything! It smells awesome and is non toxic to her -which is a top priority. I also put some in a mesh bag to scent my closet- wonderful!!! I also put some in a small mesh bag in my vehicle- ahhhhh! such a nice scent…

Not Effective enough
Seems to have worked great for about a week. Then it really varies, will need more bags for a smaller space than they say one bag is for.

This was recommended to us by a fellow cottage owner. After sprinkling it on the ground we noticed the small flying insects decreased in number.

Great with animals!
Works GREAT in keeping ticks, ants, spiders, and other yard bugs out of yard for a couple of months. Good that it works even if it rains.

Chemical free!
smells good, easy to spread. I am not sure if it's just how much rain we are having or if i need to use more, but this is hard to tell if its been effective due to that. Willing to keep trying and buy more. love that it's a chemical free option.
