Cleaner water
Our well water is extremely mineral laden (app 500 TDS). Installed a filter in line from well to house which uses these filters. They are changed monthly and yikes - black from minerals in 4 weeks. Easily changed but have to really push them in or we get a bit of leakage which stops in a few minutes. We notice an improvement in flow as soon as we do the monthly filter change so the quality is there. The price has gone up but still very much worth it for cleaner water!

Works great at filtering sediment
UPDATE: Lately, even in winter the sediment rate must be high. I have been replacing the filter about every 3 weeks. I hope that is because its working and not for other reasons(?).In my region summer water has a lot of sediment. Used to use their 35 micron filters which worked OK except when "full" the filter started letting particles through and the water became brown. This 5 micron filter really keeps out the smaller particles so when pressure drops (no brown water) I know its time to replace filter. In the summer I must replace every 2-3 weeks; winter every 2-3 months.The one CON I have it is slightly too tall. It's difficult to install so that there are no leaks. If they read this I would suggest perhaps shaving a bit off the "top" and adding a thin layer of some compressible material so we could get a tight seal more easily.

Great for fine clay particles. Reasonable price.
Filtered well and installed easily. 5 micron was too small for my sediment issues (we’ve got both sand and tiny clay particles), but picking the wrong one was my fault. I would absolutely use this filter in a two stage system with a higher micron filter first and this one second for the clay. Does what it’s supposed to do and was very reasonable in price.
