RAM MOUNTS X-Grip Large Phone Mount with U-Bolt Base and Medium Arm

I have only had it for a couple of days. Easy to install and holds the phone pretty good with the rubber strap. Not sure if I can trust it without it. Easy to place and remove your phone. Shakes a bit and you can really see it when using the 1x camera but seems more steady when using the 0.5 camera.

I was getting ready to move cross country and needed a way to mount my phone/gps to my bike, and previous phone mounts have unceremoniously killed two phones before. So buying this was scary just because it LOOKS like there isn't much to it. It also didn't help that the day of my trip, the rubber arresting strap broke. I was told I didn't need it, but it left a knot in my stomach as I started heading down the road. 1000 miles and 17 hours later, and the mount was perfect. The phone (a Galaxy s20) didn't move a muscle, didn't have excessive vibration on my Harley Sportster, and it was a headache-free experience. I finally allowed myself to relax after a few hours seeing it handle the interstate like a champion. Can't recommend this enough.

Mount is pretty solid with a few semi significant issues. For one they provide two u bolt sizes but only one sized spacer for said u bolt. Spacer is only in contact on the edges, not truly going around the bar. That's pretty lame and cheap and lazy. 2nd issue, as others have reported is the rubber teather is absolutely trash. They are not very flexible and one corner tore on first use. I have a glaxy s22 ultra. They will not work on larger phones. This is also unacceptable for a kit advertised as being compatible with these devices. There are aftermarket teathers available that are both more flexible and functional.

Sturdy & works fine. At this price I'd like to see more mounting hardware though. It comes w/ 2 sizes of U bolts. Used the small one on my 7/8" bar. A bit of a pain to get tight enough, since the nuts are too close to the ball mount to use a ratchet. Still slips a bit. Bought an off brand quick release mount w/ a 1" ball to solve that issue.

I have a bunch of rider friends who have this same mount on their bikes and I’m happy I jumped on the bandwagon. It’s perfect! Fits perfectly, comes with two different sizes you can choose from. My Triumph street twin needed the smaller clamp. I was happy to have a choice.

So the X shape that holds your phone can also hold smaller phones, like the pixel 3 no problem. Plenty of extra clearance to hold something even smaller. When combined with the flexible straps, this phone is not flying off your motorcycle regardless of what speed you are traveling, that's for sure. I am very surprised that something like this is so sturdy. I would look into the different types of mounting styles such as the front brake block one. I think that one is the best. This one still causes me to lower my gaze and can be dangerous if I target fixate too long. Other than that, it does a wonderful job.

Okay, I made the mistake of being cheap, not once... but twice before this order. I have also confirmed with others who made the same mistakes, pretty much everything under the 30 dollar mark is for a bicycle not a motorcycle. And even so, the ones above the 30 dollar mark that are made for motorcycles are not made for people who ride hard. What I mean by this is if your ride off road, or even just street and come down a little hard from a wheelie you will still probably knock the phone loose on most other mounts. This one actually hold the phone stable under all speeds and conditions I have had so far. I had to mount it a bit uncconventually on my ducati as this is a track bike with very little room to clamp anything, and the clip-ons are already short mounted with no room to connect to the bar itself. So I finagled and used the mounting bracket smaller U bolt around the protruding spring setting screws from the front fork's suspension. Its a little interesting of a connection, but Its holding rock solid and I love how it fits. This was definitely worth the cost, as it may be a bit more then I wanted to spend on a mount, its better to spend 50 up front then 1000 for a replacement phone when your cheap buy drops it on the highway at a buck 30. I will try to post back in sometime and update if it changes, if I don't update its holding fine.

Very sturdy and reliable. Dont need to think twice about my phone wen mounted. Only complaint is that the grips or claws pivot a little when phone is secured. Not a deal breaker though.

I found this for quite a reasonable price, approx. $70.

I recommend this product for people who want to drive through dunes on motor cross. The phone hangs well an doesn't lose or fall since i bought this product.
