I learned to release the bit if it gets stuck .. there is a small button in back..just push it in with a tiny tool and the bit comes right out!

How do I get the head on the flexible shaft?

Others forgot to mention…. When placing the head onto the shaft, you need to be sure the handle piece (Sticks out from the head at 90°) is NOT attached to the head! If it’s not removed prior, the other pieces will not go together. Good luck!!!

Will the magnetic hex socket on this tool hold on tightly enough to a long, 3/8" drill bit, to keep it from wobbling?

Yes, I think it will hold fine. The socket is quite good. If you're in a right angle situation, there is no other option.
