Actually works to control hyperthyroidism
So my 5 stars is not for the quality of this cat food. Necessarily. Let me explain. If you read the ingredients the food is basically hard nuggets of corn with synthetic vitamins. Would not have touched my precious fur monster's lips before she got sick with hyperthyroidism. We always tried to feed her with the highest quality cat food we could find, all natural, high protein, etc. She got sick anyway. Initially, we were able to get her hyperthyroidism under control with methimazole. And then only a month or so after victorious vet visit where her T levels were normal, she started getting sores on her face and in her ears from the methimazole. Due to the separation period involved with radioactive iodine treatment, we decided to try the food. I was very reticent but after reading through reviews on Amazon (thank you reviewers) I began to think it could work. And it has so far. Our 13yo old cat is back to her normal spoiled self! Her fur is even shiny and she seems to enjoy her hard little corn pellets. We also feed her the canned Y/D but she seems to prefer the kibble overall.

My cats enjoy this Thyroid Care dry food
My senior, neutered cats were on the W/D Hills diet, when one of them was diagnosed with thyroid disease.I had no issues transitioning him to prescription dry thyroid dry food & my vet advised me I didn't have to worry if my other cat steal a couple of bites.I eventually transitioned my cat to a thyroid pill, but still feed him the dry thyroid food.

Effective & the cat likes it
My cat has thyroid issues but can only tolerate a small dose of the medicine, because it causes severe itching in some cats. The Science Diet Thyroid food has been the magic fill in. I use it in combination with a small dose of the medicine and it works. I've gotten her the canned food & she will eat it off & on.

The only reason why my cat 🐈 is still here.
This is keeping my baby alive. She doesn't always prefer it but she is alive, well and happy.

Seems to be helping my best buddy at 18, now 19, so worth every penny for that!!
My dearest 18 year old Siamese seems to be doing better with this food. I will do anything to keep him around, cause super smart and cool cats are hard to come by! yep, I even feed him lobsta meat on occasion. I love the looks I get at the fish market when Walter asks me if I want some tail meat for my cats, lol. hey, he has had to live with me all his life, so he deserves the best.I am glad to see him improving, and pray it continues. it is expensive, but how do you put a price on your best friend and loyal companion? I bought him a Siamese twin brother, but I got the type of Siamese that is unstable with that one.UPDATE: He is now 19 :) I just wonder if I can get this to him with 2 new kittens? He does give me the "WTF" stare when those 2 come prancing around, even after 4 months of us all in one house. Can kittens eat this stuff? Now that I have 4 cats, very hard to control who gets what since I free feed with dry food. And yes, litter duty is quite busy. The kittens love to watch me clean the boxes, why can't they learn to help? All that energy needs to be directed to a positive purpose! Other than basically tearing house apart!! 2 kittens together are amazing best freinds, but they play very hard, drop, and wake up to play harder later. Once the bedroom door closes, I swear I hear them say "party time"!

Very pricey but it works
I've unofficially diagnosed my 16 year old cats with a thyroid condition . They fit all of the criteria with the matted hair , the insatiable appetite and the consistent vomiting. Just short of taking them to the vet I decided to try a little dietary intervention. I use this feed in addition to other thyroid support products and let me tell you the results have been tremendous. After eating this my cats become satiated they still have the occasional vomiting and their fur is still matted to which I have to brush it daily but this has made a tremendous difference. The only caveat is the price. $50 for a bag of kibble seems highly ridiculous however in comparison to vet bills and possible medication this may be level to what my expenses could be. I will continue to purchase this as long as my cats thrive. I just wish there were a cheaper alternative that gave the same results.

Incredible
I adopted a 10 year old cat from a shelter for pets with special needs and he was heavily medicated for hyperthyroidism. He stopped taking the pill no matter how many tricks I tried. He became more and more hyper, couldn't keep any food down, vomited every few hours... it was a nightmare!I then tried a topical medication to see if that helped. Nope! Both these suppression drugs gave him hairless ears but I didn't know if they were the blame. Dermatologist declared him healthy. I wasn't convinced, so I decided to give this thyroid diet a shot. It was like watching a miracle.... He could eat, he could keep it down and over time the hair grew back on his ears! Now and then he still vomits, but it's now a once in a while thing instead of chronically.I just now tried the wet food too and he eats THAT while he refused to eat any canned or fresh before, only dry for him...If you have a hyperthyroid cat and don't want them on medication, TRY this!!!!!
