Plenty of bang-for-buck
The knife is an 8Cr14MoV steel, which is a good utility steel that will sharpen to a good edge, and while you will need to keep some sharpening ceramics around to keep a keen edge, it's a strong enough steel to not have the flaws of some specialty metals like VG-10, which is fragile upon impact. This tool steel will simply deform if struck or bent, but can be re-bent as needed. Hard to bend a blade this thick, though. This has a simple design and comes in cheap at $14 ($25 at most retailers), which makes it a great little knife to buy several of to keep around in lots of places. Stow 'em in the Jeep, the office, the backpack, or keep handy near the keys. It'll never beat out your favorite knives (try out Zero Tolerance, if you haven't already), but it'll do the basics and last a good long time, too. And for this price, you can accept the fact that it comes from China.

Big Bang for the $
Ok so this isn't a Cold Steel AK47 or a Spyderco Tenacious and I was not expecting such for $15.00, I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a "money clip" pocket knife at best and I got a cool little EDC option that has formidable characteristics of some higher end knives. At first I struggled with the thumb hole deployment so I oiled up the knife well and I added a little flick of the wrist with the finger movement and found this to be a very fast actuating knife. I does need a little help with the wrist since the blade is not very heavy and has less weight to build momentum to actuate. The knife however does have a nice weight to it and is very sturdy. No blade play at all horizontal or vertical with the blade open. The blade is not a utility blade more so a slicing blade however the steel and finish is not skimpy, mine was razor sharp, shaved the hair on my arms and a very nice wicked sharp speer point. The best part about this knife is the jimping, very reminiscent of the Spyderco's and allows you to get a super firm purchase on this knife with a combat grip. Other people scoff at the pocket clip but I found this clip to be very functional. It is long and deep therefore it relies on the weight of the knife to settle in your pocket not a super crazy tight clip that rips away at the pocket material. The deepness of the clip lets the knife sink down far enough not to fall out, conceals it well and allows a nice smooth deployment when pulling out of pocket. This CRKT option is one of my favorite low budget 2.5" to 3" blade EDC knives next to the CRKT Drifter which to me is the ultimate in this category. I say get them both neither will disappoint!

Great little EDC
This is is a nice every day carry (EDC) with a good design that locks the blade in place. I use mine as a money clip too making it even more practical. The small size is perfect for the pocket. My only wish is that CRKT would improve the steel quality of it's blades so they kept an edge longer. I attended a the National Hardware Show in May 2013 and a fellow offered to demonstrate his new knife sharpener by sharpening my knife. He was hesitant then to do anything when he saw how sharp it was and examined the knife closely, noting the steel, while good, seemed somewhat below the quality of other high end manufactures. He was correct. It is good but better steel would make it out of this world. However, all that said, for the price it is great quality, a nice design, perfect size for EDC, and well made. I only once had a problem with a CRKT knife and they went out of their way to replace a discontinued design. Offered money back or replacement of equal value. When I commented I really loved the product they searched around and finally found the same knife somewhere to replace mine.I will continue to by CRKT products.

Great for the price
This is a really good knife at this price point, and compares to some that are more expensive. The initial sharpness is very good and seems to be holding up well. It's my utility knife that's always in my pocket, so it gets used to cut cardboard boxes, wood, used as a lever or screwdriver, etc. It's abused and holds up well. The action is smooth and easy. Nice clip. Slim enough that I forget it's there.

I admit it... I buy far too ...
I admit it...I buy far too many knives. The Pazoda, though, is the one I carry most days..The knife feels very solid, fits well in my large hands, is balanced, and has the combination of a serrated blade and straight edge. The useable length of the blade is longer than knives that are a longer. The all metal construction makes it heavier and feel more durable than knives of similar size.It gets taken for hikes in the woods near my Alaskan home along with my Leatherman Rebar. My Benchmade fixed blade, along with my Leatherman SuperTool are choices for longer treks. The Enlan El-01 also has its place and everyone needs a collection of Buck knives. There a lots of quality knives out there with many of them being made in China with high quality steel. The decent ones can complement the top of the line American made products.Hope this helps..thanks for reading.

Great pocketknife
I'm not a "knife guy" or hunter or mechanic or anything like that. But I had a pocketknife as a teenager and thought it may be helpful to have one now. And it really is helpful! Note to other white-collar types: you don't have to be a redneck to appreciate having a pocketknife. Us J.D.'s will find it easier to open stuff, too. You'll see. This knife is pretty great. It's slim so it fits in my pocket without being noticeable. I can also open and close it with one hand, which is actually pretty damn cool. As for the sharpness when it arrives -- hey, buddy. It's a knife. You're going to have to sharpen it sometime.I couldn't decide between this with the serrated edge or the simpler all sharp edge. I'm glad I got the serrated version. Not that I'm sawing through things, but just in case....I'm going to get a couple more --- for the price, the quality and style is great. And no, I'm going to be all carrying three pocketknives like crazy apocalypse guy. I just think it's good enough that when I abuse and break this one, I'll have another to take its place.
