I thought this was gonna be chew proof my dog has eaten ears off and other bits

Purchased this a stuck in away as a "Gotcha Day" gift for our 26 lb. Goldendoodle. She likes to play fetch and "attack" the squeaky toys, biting at them so they will squeak continually until she gets tired of it, or we do. Upon arrival, this toy seemed sturdy as if the fabric would be strong to withstand biting (vs. chewing), which still seems to be the case, but the seams are not sturdy and pulled apart in several places after only 20 min. of use. The stuffing is being exposed which makes it dangerous to use, so that's money wasted. Would not recommend this product if your dog likes to bite on the toy at all, because it will not last long or be worth the money for time spent in play.

I love this hippo. And so did my dog. Did, as in past tense, bc hippo already went up in a cloud of stuffing. BUT, I will buy this again bc it is very tough for a soft toy. The squeaker is not annoying. My dog loved his hippo & trotted around w it proudly for 3 weeks. It definitely lasted the longest of any stuffed toy he’s had. He’s a super chewer so every toy has a short life span. This one did very well & is adorable. I was very sad when hippo bit the dust.

I just recently found this brand of dog toys and I am impressed so far. The fabric is tough and more importantly, so is the stitching. I use the toys for playing a moderate game of tug with my dogs and they have not put any holes in the toys yet, although I know it will happen eventually. My dogs are not bad about chewing toys up. Don't be one of those people complaining about how your dog chewed up a toy, because, duh... Any dog can chew up any dog toy within seconds, if you let them. If you have an aggressive chewer, you need to monitor their toy play. If you have a dog that eats pieces off of soft toys, then don't give them soft toys! Never leave soft toys with any puppy!

I have an adult male Pit Bull that destroys everything, has even removed a small chunk from his black Kong ball, but for some reason has had this toy for a solid week, and the squeaker still works, body is intact, ears gone, but he is lovin some purple hippo. Purchased a second one as a back up. Well worth the time he has spent chewing on this toy, as long as the quality remains the same I will continue to purchase this Brand of toy.

This material is not designed to stretch, so please do not think that it is poor construction or material by any means. We have a very aggressive chewer in our female pit bull. She destroyed the squeaker with 24 hours of being given the toy, but it is so durable that the toy is still in good shape otherwise. I would strongly recommend it to anyone considering this brand (& our baby girl WILL be getting more of these for Christmas).
