Hellraiser C-1 FR Electric Guitar, Black Cherry

So this is the first guitar I bought to replace my dad's PRS SG that I've been using for about 4 years now. I wanted a Hellraiser for years now, and I finally found it cheap ($799.99) on Amazon and got a sweet 12 month financing offer on it. Let me just say that it has reached ALL my expectations. I play mostly metal-core music, like As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red.. It truly does produce a great tone to match a metal lover. I was very divided at first when getting this guitar, it was either the Hellraiser or the Blackjack. The main difference is the SD Blackouts in the Blackjack and the 81R/89TW EMG's in the Hellraiser. Also, the Hellraiser has coil tapping so you can get some very nice clean tones out of it as well. After much deliberation and many guitar form postings, I decided to go with the Hellraiser because I also play some alternative music on occasion such as The Goo Goo Dolls and Vertical Horizon, so the coil tapping comes in handy for me. I also like the design of the Hellraiser better; the Blackjack has this odd bolt inlay in the 12 fret and no other fret inlays, and the "aged white" version is kinda yellow when I really wanted a str8 white finish. I have heard from some the SD Blackouts are a little on the heavier side then the EMG's in the Hellraiser, but let me just say I personally think the EMG's sound fantastic for the music I like. If your on the fence between the Hellraiser and Blackjack, I'd go with the Blackjack if you'll be playing strictly metal. If your like me and sometimes play songs where you want a nice clean tone, AND you want to melt faces with distortion, I'd choose the Hellraiser. Please take into consideration I have never played the Blackjack.. The Guitar Center near me didn't have one :'( In my new guitar, one of the many things I wanted it to be great at was pinch harmonics. Any guitar pro (I'll say I'm intermediate) will tell you that technique makes your harmonics great, and they'd be right, but I've defiantly noticed that--for me at least--the pinch harmonics come easier to me and sound even better now on my Hellraiser then the PRS SG. The Floyd Rose is pretty cool, its going to take some practice to get good at using it while I'm playing and incorporate it into songs, but I knew what I was getting myself into buying a FR. Of course tuning is a hassle if your going to drop it lower then standard, but I was able to drop the Dizzle (D) and keep all the strings in tune very nicely just this morning, with no experience on changing FR guitar tunings. One final note; this new model of the Hellraiser has like I said 81R/89TW EMG's as opposed to the 81/85 EMG's in the older version. I know that one of my favorite bands, TDWP, plays with the 81/85 EMG configuration, and I was worried I would not get the kind of tone I wanted from these different EMG's. After playing my Hellraiser for the first time today, I can say personally they are pretty damn similar sounding to the 81/85 config, and I wont have a problem shredding to TDWP later on tonight (I believe I played a 81/85 EMG Hellraiser a few years ago at my guitar center, for what its worth). Long story short, I love these EMG's. Melt-your-face heavy when you want it, and nice cleans when you so choose. I love my brand new gloss white Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR. I got free two day Student Prime shipping and was amazed how fast I got it. I ordered it Wednesday evening around 3-4pm, and it was at my house THE NEXT MORNING (today as of this review) between 9am and 11am. That's free two-day shipping that took about less then 20 hours to get to my door after clicking "checkout". And I think that's amazing. It came with the action PERFECT and just the way I like it, ultra low, and it was perfectly in tune right when I took it out of the packaging. I was not expecting that. It came with standard strings and I had thicker ones on my dad's PRS SG so I will probably slap some thicker strings on it soon. Ok I'm done now haha. God bless and happy shredding to all! fyi -- I'll check my packaging again, but I don't think the guitar came with a manual, which I do want. I don't really know which knobs are which at the moment, other then knowing pulling one or two of them engages coil tapping in their respective pickup lol.

Guitar came loosely packaged, missing the whammy bar, has dents the corner of the body, and the center knob won't stay on. I don't plan too send it back, just glad I finally got one and I'll fix the issues later. Other than that great guitar, feels and sounds great.

I have the sustaniac and none sustaniac, this one, and it plays great, sounds great and is a real beauty. It may be expensive for beginners, but definitely very playable for all levels of experience. Push/pull really helps reach any genre needed.

Amazing instrument. Extremely versatile and fun, with killer looks to boot. Arrived quickly and safely and packed well. Could not be happier. Had to sell my original. Very pleased to have one of these back in the fleet.

Beautiful guitar, and it sounds amazing but sadly one of the guitar screw is damaged it was hard to get that bolt off, cause it got damage, but everything else beutiul

Oh, i love this guitar, because is my first one. I decided to buy it after searching everywhere, and i have to say i'm very happy with it. It arrived on time, an even i received it myself. It is very beautiful, the rosewood fret board is very elegant with it gothic inlay crosses. To match it, i bought the Jim Dunlop Celtic Gray strap, and looks awesome. What else can i say??? This "superstrat" guitar is perfect!!!

this guitar is nice dont get me wrong, but it had quite a few flaws one of which ruined the guitar, first it had a crazy high action and lowering it with the floyd rose bridge is a pain. also it came with cracks into the guitar itself!!!! there where cracks in the back of the back of the guitar that led to a snap in the back of the guitar about an inch from the head. also the emg pickup casing was badly damaged, and the frickin guitar doesent say in tune!!! even with the tuner locks. im very dissapointed with the quality of the guitar. if you are gonna buy it off amazon i advise you get it from a seller that actually knows how the condition of the guitar... such as guitar center, stay away from this seller!!! btw it is a nice guitar im not hating just dont like the condition that was claimed NEW

The tone control is amazing. I play in my church band and make metal covers for facebook and youtube. This guitar is really versatile. I can always find the perfect tone when I need it thanks to the "coil split" option on the knobs. The only thing that bothered me was the black chrome tint on the hardware. My hand gets really sweaty when I play but, I didn't expect for the tint to fade away after using it ONLY 4 times. Now I have a sliver dash on my floyd rose. It's not really noticeable but it bothers me. Either way, the neck is amazing. I've played an 800 dollar fender strat but it doesn't compare to the hellraiser's neck. You have more control when you play solos on the fretboard. As for the looks.....It's great. I've gotten so many compliments from my friends as well as other guitarists.
