Works Great
Put this on my 2006 Passat. Added the recommended oil as per the instructions, flushed the system and recharged it and the air is colder than ever before. Very important to remember that these compressors require oil before they are installed. Delphi is a very reliable manufacturer, and the price is great on Amazon.

Very Noisy
I have installed 3 of these compressors so far on my 2008 Jetta GLI. Every single one has been extremely noisy; making a growling/moaning noise. I figured the first one was defective, so I replaced it and the second one was the same way. Thought I might have bad luck so I replaced it with a third, and after about 100 miles it too started making the same noise. It's extremely annoying because these compressors "run" even when the AC is turned off, so if you have the fan on a low speed or aren't blasting music, you can hear the compressor groan and moan linearly with engine RPM. They cool great, it's just beyond annoying to have to listen to it especially since the Sanden compressors are silent. These Delphi compressors have been costly with the time and expense of replacing them and the freon. Should have just bought a Sanden the first time. Big thumbs down from me. EDIT: I called Delphi tech support to inquire about the noise issues and the gist of the conversation with their representative was "I'm not there to see the peoblem" "I haven't received a phone call or email from the retailer about the problem" "The retailer didn't send us your previous compressors to look at" "your pressures are within spec, so it sounds like piston noise coming from the case". I asked if this is the quality to be expected from Delphi compressors, as in if they all are going to make noise and that's acceptable by Delphi, or if I've just gotten bad ones and the response was "if you've had 3 that make noise it's probably not luck, that's a trend". So I clarified if that is normal or to be expected from their compressors and the response was "I'm not there to see the vehicle, but if you replaced everything, properly evacuated and recharged the system and it makes noise, then that's how it is. If I was the repair shop doing this on a customers vehicle, I'd give them their money back and say sorry we can't make it meet your expectations, take it somewhere else". Overall the tech representative wasn't helpful, and while he was friendly, his tone was a tad hostile. I guess my takeaway from the conversation is Delphi isn't going to do anything, and doesn't have an opinion or feedback on the issue unless they have your vehicle in front of them to inspect it or you send the compressor to them. If you're on a budget and don't want to risk it on one of the cheap non-name brand compressors from China, this one works and cools well, but it is annoyingly loud all the time. If you can accept the noise or your radio is on 100% of the time. This will probably suffice. Otherwise pay a bit more and get a factory spec Sanden compressor like I am. It's worth your mental sanity not having to listen to it all the time.

Very noisy compressor
I replaced my OEM VW AC compressor with this unit from Delphi as I needed to replace my condenser and figured I might as well replace this while I had the entire front end apart. The new compressor works great, but when the AC is off, this compressor makes a loud groaning sound as other reviewers have noted. To evacuate the system and replace the compressor with another brand at this point would be too costly and time consuming. The system works, but the noise is very irritating at idle and with no music playing. As soon as you turn on the AC, the noise goes away, but comes back shortly after you turn the AC off. I was hoping Delphi would have been a solid brand choice in comparison to the other generic or no-name brands available on Amazon and elsewhere, but it seems this compressor is just not a good choice for replacement.

Great compressor but some notes ...
The compressor is definitely better than my original Sanden OEM compressor that was in my 2010 VW Jetta TDI. It really makes the air colder than it ever was since the car was new ... no kidding! My only mention here is that this compressor does not come with the 2 O-rings that are needed. I did have an assortment of O-rings in my toolbox but they were slightly thicker than the originals. I tried using the new ones and no-go ... I could not connect either low or high side connections with those O-rings so I did resort to using the old ones which were in great condition even after 200k miles on the car. I then proceeded to vacuum the the system down and it held vacuum fine, so I got lucky I guess. It does however, come with the right type and amount of PAG oil that is needed ... i just had to remove a small amount of the oil as compared to what I extracted from my old compressor (per the included instructions which were excellent). I expect this compressor should last the life of the car ... I own other VWs that are 20 yrs old and I never had an AC problem ... not even a refill was needed. There is definitely a problem with the original Sanden 2010 VW Jetta compressors from what I've read online ... I did replace the original control valve and that worked for several months but then a 2nd replacement of this valve did not work and I resorted to replacing the compressor with this Delphi compressor ... no regrets yet. I'll update this review if anything changes. Good luck & I hope you find my review useful.

I was VERY disappointed the o-rings were not included
While the product came quickly and fit well, I was VERY disappointed the o-rings were not included. What a hassle scrambling to get them.

Great Product Quality and Price
This product was new unopened and fit perfectly as stated when I put the vehicle information in. The price was marvelous and could not be beat anywhere. The offered extended warranty and insurance was also great. I would recommend this product and the company to anyone looking to replace their compressor. It came within 1 business day and the shipping price was unbeatable.

Didn't last long enough to close the hood.
I installed this compressor on an '08 Passat. I was just about to remove my gauges and close the hood when the compressor locked up and caused the engine to die. I had to re-install the old compressor to get the car back on the road. I just sent the seller an email and depending on the outcome of the warranty, I may update my review at a later date. However, I really don't want to install another one of these compressor if they aren't manufactured any better than this. Ok, here's an update. As I said, the part was defective, however, I contacted the seller, Parts Factor, and was very pleased with the customer service that I received. I returned the part and was issued a full refund for the purchase price and original shipping charges.
