Chitty Chitty Bang Bang [Blu-ray]

Great Classic Movie😊

This movie is a classic. My three and five year-old asked to watch it probably every other week. The music is catchy and right. We absolutely love the posh song lol Dick Van Dyke is the best! I wish they still made movies like this.

10/10. An all time classic

Still holds up from when I was a kid! Dick Van Dyke at his finest (aside from Mary Poppins etc). My kids (under 12) loved it too!

A wonderful kids movie. Lots of imagination and good morals.

Good movie

Good children's films always offer something for adults or older audiences beyond the child audience. This film has very unique and good song and dance numbers, romantic intrigue in a very old fashioned courting by accident kind of way, slap stick antics, and jokes and gags that are obvious and subtle in nature. It is of course a film of the late 60s, and so there are some technical limitations with the special effects, but the film itself is a blend of genres and styles. And the bad guys are both scary and buffoons, and get their comeuppance in the end. The very talented Dick Van Dyke and lovely Sally Ann Howe make a terrific leading couple, and Lionel Jeffries playing the equally eccentric Potts senior, give the adults something to chew on as the younger audience focus on Heather Ripley and Adrian Hall, the child vicariants. It's a movies about espionage, about invention, about romance, about imagination and a car that does miraculous things. As a young boy I enjoyed it as a simple adventure story. As an adult I enjoyed it as a slapstick film that had quiet moments in it, but gave good subtle laughs with the entire cast. From the two spies, to Jeffries singing with the gaggle of dungeoned inventors, to the really sumptuous scenery of the English countryside, this is a film not to be missed, enjoyed either alone or with loved ones, and just watched when you're feeling down. I could take pot shots at the alteration from the original story, but that's nitpicking. The Bond production team felt like making a children's movie, and they did. With "Flying Colors" so to speak, tipping my hat to the original character. Check it out.

Item arrived in good condition and on the day that was predicted. Great, old movie.

Delivered well packed. The DVD played well with no issue. One of the best musical classics

Ottimo DVD. L'oggetto è esattamente come descritto.

Definitely one of the greatest British musicals that has never lost its charm and is appealing today as it has been to audiences since it was made. A great story line, beautiful music, catchy memorable songs, very funny at times with moments of pure slapstick comedy, beautiful English, French and German scenery and a touching love story to top it all. No dubbing was used for any of the songs as everyone who sang in the film used their own voice on the soundtrack. The film was made in Super Panavision 70mm., so it is very unusual that you get the best print outlay in the 4.3 format. This means the screen size is smaller with black horizontal tabs not only at the top and bottom of the screen (the 'letterbox' effect), but also down the side of the screen vertically. This still gives perfect picture quality and colour rendition and full size of the original 70mm. print, although you may not realise it. By all means, you can fill your tv screen using 'zoom' format, but you will lose some picture quality and full size of the frame. Don't try it, just enjoy it in the 4.3 format. The DVD shows the complete film with a very short but loud 'bang-bang' overture for a few seconds before the credits begin, then a short intermission and then the exit music. And the star of the show....the car! Enjoy!! David in Colchester.
