Does this product require drilling on my car? Is it only an easy bolt on project?

No drilling at all. Boys right on to existing bolts. Very easy and works great. I left the original prop rod on as it is out of the way and doesn’t cause any problems. There are some you tube videos on how to install them.

since the plates are only secured with one bolt each, do they twist/rotate around?

They do when installing, I just held mine straight and tightened the bolts. No issues since.
