Hunter Rain-Clik WRCLIK Wireless Rain/Freeze Sensor for Sprinkler System

This Rain-Freeze sensor is a great upgrade for my Hunter I-Core Controller; however, after buying this, I now know, I should have bought the Solar-Rain-Freeze sensor. TIP - The mistake I made is thinking I understood what Solar meant in the title of the better sensor - the Solar-Rain-Freeze sensor does NOT have anything to do with solar power, instead Solar refers to its ability to connect with internet weather sources providing temp and humidity etc info to better save water.

Hunter has an awesome sensor and receiver to shut the sprinkler water off after rainfall. Exact match to my failed receiver which lasted 12 years. The actual rain sensor was replaced once during the same 12 years.

I love the fact this rain sensor is wireless. My wired one was chewed up my rodents or rabbits. Maybe the latter. This sensor works well in the rain and dries uo perfectly. It integrates with my Rachio Sprinkler Controller and compliments it well if the weather predictions are inaccurate.

Very easy to pair with my Hunter system. Easy mount to gutter. Connects pretty quick and easy. Works perfectly when it’s raining.

After having the sensor for almost 3 years, I will say it works good. Be careful as it gets dirty and you might think it's battery is dead. I had this issue, so i cleaned it with crc electronic cleaner. Then let it dry completely before turning back on. Make sure to set the bypass on the module before cleaning. Worked fine aftwards.

Installed on my own with no prior experience in under 10 minutes and works seamlessly with our Hunter system. And we get a rebate on our water bill here for providing proof of purchase so after a year this pays for itself not counting the water it saves!

Once installed properly it works ok. Please be sure to follow the instructions exactly as written. I had to watch videos and call the company after my install was not working. Everything was correct but the issue is the processor in the control head. It is very slow and not smart. When you make a change it takes a few moments to accept and reconfigure itself. Once I gave it a few minutes it accepted the wiring and sensor input. Had to perform the checks several times to get it to work. Once was accepted it works ok. Finally, there are no instructions as to how to adjust the drying gate on the sensor for your area. Once the operation is clear in your head you will have to play with it, letting it get wet and drying out to adjust the drying times to get it to work. Also it will not work when running the system on “Manual.” It has to be auto turned on by the controller to work. As this is the only option I would buy it again.

Device eventually set up correctly and working well. The paper instructions provided are confusing and caused me to wire it up incorrectly. Had to refer to You Tube videos - they clarified the problem quickly. Hunter user guides are not great.

Excellent! easy to install!

Had the product less than a year and the sensor has stopped working, receiver seems ok. Doing a test on the sensor it seems the sensor battery does not last the 5 years as the manufacturer suggests.
