PANASONIC Bluetooth Corded / Cordless Phone System with Answering Machine, Enhanced Noise Reduction and One-Touch Call Block - 2 Handsets - KX-TGF382M (Metallic Black)

This replaced an older Panasonic cordless that I had for years. It had rechargeable batteries that were proprietary, and tried replacements but they are not made anymore and the "new" old stock batteries were in worse shape than the old one. So time for an upgrade. Reading some other reviews that indicated a lot of complicated manual reading and configuration, I found this to just work right out of the box. There are a zillion parts in the box wrapped in little boxes and bags, but it is really simple. It just all plugged together and worked. Great range compared to an earlier Panasonic set, and audio is very loud and clear, and no echos at all. When using the speakerphone on the cordless sets, the speaker is on the back and can sound a bit muffled compared to the earpiece. The only fiddly configuration is pairing your cellphone to the system via bluetooth, however, other than tinkering with it I don't see much need. On the battery note, I was happy to find these use NI-MH cells but they are standard AAA size cells, so any standard NI-MH battery should work when the time comes. Best feature is the Block button, that will be the first thing to wear out on these!

We got rid of our landline and have been using this new phone system with our cell phones (2) for a few weeks and love it. It was easy to set up and pair both cell lines with it. There is one base unit that has a handset if you want the feel of a "real" phone in your hand, as well as the two cordless units that have small bases that plug into electric outlets. I have the base unit on my desk plugged into an electric outlet, and the other units in a bedroom and kitchen. Whenever either one of our cell phones rings, the phones all ring and we can answer on whichever we choose (either #1 or #2 flashes depending on which cell it is). It is easy to transfer the call back to your cell phone too if you want to head out with the cell phone and the call. I really like the ability of the base unit to read the caller ID aloud! I can hear the caller ID read out before I can walk over to the phone to see who it is (if I don't have the cell phone on me). I don't use the answering machine on the phone, since it is easy to get voice mail on the cell phones directly. The speaker phone works well and I've used it many times while I'm at my desk. No one has complained on the other end yet! The phone easily brought in my cell phones directory - so no need to enter all your phone numbers. These phones are exactly what I was looking for.

I purchased this phone which is a newer model from the last one I bought a few years ago. Lots of features and works great. However, pairing a range extender was problematic and not successful. Panasonic on TWO different occasions told me to purchase TWO different models and neither would pair so I am disappointed by that. I believe that I am able to read directions and the failure to connect was not on my part. I will say that the phone does receive a signal from a pretty good distance from the base when outside. I am happy with the purchase.

Bought this phone a little over a year ago. So far it has performed flawlessly. I do not use the answering machine function since I use my Optimum voicemail so I can't vouch for how good the answering machine works. Good sound quality from handsets and base. LOVE LOVE LOVE the bluetooth. I no longer have to keep my cellphone near me when I am home. The Panasonic links flawlessly to my Nokia 7.1 and my previous Nexus 5X. Also love that the ringtone of this feature is distinct from the Panasonics normal ringtone. That way I can easily tell whether the call is originating from my cell or not. Speakphone on base unit works awesome. I never get any complaints from friends or clients. I don't use the speakerphone on the portable handsets much but when I have nobody has complained. Don't really have anything negative to say about it that I can think of other than I can't seem to find a way of reviewing and managing the numbers I add to the Call Block. Would like this ability in case I may block a good one by accident.

I like this phone and its features and recommend it. Sound quality and range is good and we really like several of the features. One feature, the call blocking is particularly awesome and it has substantially reduced our normal tsunami of dinner time telemarketer calls. It gives us a great deal of satisfaction to hit the call blocking when we get our friends with strong out of country accents that call us warning us that the IRS is after us and we should call them immediately. Certainly these guys can't be all bad, can they? Maybe they just had a bad childhood and maybe this call blocking feature will be a sign to them that they should seek a new career. One phone feature I just figured out and really like is that you can locate individual remote handsets through the mother ship station. We have a habit a laying our handsets wherever we last used them, such as in the laundry room on the shelf near the detergent, on the patio on one of the dog beds, or the family favorite of under the cushions of the recliner! You can search for handset number 1 or number 2 individually, or in case of a catastrophic handset loss, you can search for all of them at the same time! I will not divulge which search method we normally use, but we are glad that the mothership phone is wired and we cannot move it so we always have one phone that is easily accessible.

The batteries just don't last as long as they really could. Other than that the phone really is clear. Speakerphone works amazingly well. Especially on the base station. The page feature is awesome! The other features all work. The voicemail was a cinch to set up. I just remember growing up with handsets that could last for days without finding the base station... Didn't quite figure I was going to have to charge this thing once every few days. The darn things are supper easy to read though. I honestly would have liked a feature that makes the darn thing not use the backlight as much.

Update On hold waiting for tech help for a long time to fix sound of caller - muffled- not clear hard to understand More user friendly than other phone system (Vtech) I had to return. One of the reasons I chose this one was for use of AAA batteries. However, they don't mean the ones I keep on hand. They require rechargeable Ni-MH AAA RO3.batteries. Luckily, these are available on Amazon while the batteries to the other phone system were not.

Great way to move to cellphone-only and maintain some house phones. There are some things you have to do to accomplish this way of using this system: 1) set this unit for cellphone-only, do not leave it in dual mode if your only telephone line is your cellphone. Leaving it in dual mode will cause issues calling out to other numbers. 2) your mobile phone needs to be in the same room as the base unit as Bluetooth has less reach on its signal than the cordless phones do. This unit's voice quality is awesome and is only limited by your cell phone provider's signal. This is why you should pay a little more for your Panasonic phones and avoid their low end models; the quality is very noticeable. I did not test this unit with a landline/VOIP service so I do not know if the same excellent voice sound is present there too. Also, this model can announce when you have a text message; great for people who do not want to keep manually checking their mobile phone for texts. This review addresses some inconsistencies and incorrect information posted about the 300-series of Panasonic phones and higher.

As Panasonic does not sell by retail in India their cordless phones with two extensions, I bought this product after lots of hesitancy and research. I have now got this installed for about 10 days and it works fine on a bsnl connection. It has back up on power failure also, and once you load the phone book in one device all other devices also get updated. The seller also delivered ahead of time and on the whole a happy experience.
