FAAY Round Wood Soup Spoons, Teak Tableware and Flatware Handcrafted from High Moisture Resistant Teak, Healthy and Eco-friendly

The company FAAY makes such beautiful hand made teak utensils. These are a little too large for soup spoons, but I use them for serving, as well as for dry goods, spooning out flour and such to measure while I am cooking or baking. I can even leave one in my dry goods containers without fear of chemicals leaching into my flours, seeds or coffee. I have a whole collection of FAAY utensils, including some left-handed ones they offer... and the group looks so professional in a container on my kitchen counter. This purchase supports a small business that produces well made teak utensils with no chemicals.... and they are NOT made in China.

These are lovely. Well designed with a deep bowl shape so you can get a good bite of soup or food on there. I do have to re-oil them regularly to maintain their appearance but I feel better about that than I would eating hot liquids with a wood spoon that has a questionable varnish. These spoons are JUST wood. There is no varnish/protective layer and that is perfect for me. I like that I can eat hot food without burning myself with the utensil!

Love the quality of these spoons. Shipped quickly. Unfortunately, I found the bowl too deep to enjoy creamed or thicker soups. More of a tip or sip spoon. Would be nice for mostly broth soups.

These are great spoons! We use them all the time for cooking but they are also small enough to eat with, maybe a little big for some people but I like them.

As part of my quest to not ingest metals, I usually eat from bamboo, but bamboo spoons are not deep enough so I use wood. I like the look of these and that they aren't varnished. But I discovered a problem. With certain foods that might be a bit more sticky, because of their shape, it is almost impossible to get them off the bottom of these spoons; they just don't accommodate the mouth. So I rarely use them. I'm sure for soup, they are probably great. They just need a bit more attention paid in their design to how they are to be used.

I love the spoons and I have no concerns about damaging my cookware, dishes, or body. These are far superior to bamboo or coconut. The only better option would probably be a stronger hardwood, but then the cost escalates tremendously. These are the best bang for your buck wood utensils that I have been able to locate.

They were a little dry when they arrived and I put some mineral oil on them before I initially used them, like they recommended, and the grain came out beautifully. Functionally, these spoons are the right size for soup.

My spoons arrived promptly, well wrapped, and as described. They are very nice, easy to use, and easy to hold. Recommend.
