MGBR-02 Magnetic Base Stand for Digital Dial Indicator Gauge 176lbs Max Pull

The base is as described as the page. Easy to set up and the magnet is strong. A very good alternative if you cannot afford the big name.

The base isn’t flat so it will rock, making getting repeatable readings difficult. I’m not impressed at all by this product. The rods are very short, so much so that orienting the dial indicator is a lengthy process if you can even get it to reach. The plastic tightening knobs are very large in diameter and get in the way, further limiting mounting options. Those two problems make its usefulness very limited. The lack of a flat magnet surface makes it even less than useful. I’ll be demoting this to use as a flashlight holder as it’s not very good at what I bought it for.

Good for the price. Some deflection in joints even when knobs clamped very tight (<10 thou inch) but if you're looking for stability beyond that it might get frustrating. Also base was not machined flat and unit wobbled slightly. Used some 220 wet sand paper on plate glass to flatten. But for $20 it will suffice.

I used it with "Triton 1" Dial Indicator 0.001" Graduation Travel Lug Back White Face" and it worked perfectly strong magnet and enough adjustment

I will try to find a scale to measure the pull at which the magnet pulls free, but for now it seems substantial.
