Deer Out 40oz Ready-to-Use Deer Repellent

We live in a suburban area but have woods at the end of our road. It seems like lately a roving gang of around 5 deer have been meandering down our street really early in the morning to munch on everyone's shrubs. We have huge euonymous bushes flanking our driveway and, lo and behold, this year when the spring came, it turned out that the deer were eating all of the new foliage off of the shrubs. They couldn't reach the top, so that had leaves, but all of the sides of the shrub were decimated. It looked terrible. I didn't want to use a harsh pesticide, so after some research, I found Deer-Out repellent spray. I wasn't very hopeful, because it was definitely a pretty bad situation and the shrubs were in bad shape. Anyway, I received the product, which was carefully wrapped and shipped, and immediately unwrapped it and went to work. I sprayed all of the shrubs with it, even areas where there were just little stumps of new growth. I covered the leaves that were left and the bare wood as well. Within a few days I saw that it was working. The deer were definitely repelled by the scent and new leaves started to grow. The bottle reminds you to spray again on new growth, which I did, and I am really happy to report that the shrubs look almost normal again! Only a few items to note: the smell is kind of gross (but no big deal), I sprayed when it was kind of windy, and a little got on my arm, which made it itchy for a few hours, and the new leaves have little bits of discolored spots on them. It is very small, like a spattering of much lighter green, than the leaves on the top of the shrub where I didn't spray. To me, all of that is small potatoes, in light of the fact that this spray WORKED LIKE A CHAMP!!!! It really keeps the deer away and saved my 20 year old massive shrubs. I am almost ready to order another bottle. Don't hesitate to buy this, it really did do what it promised.

My wife wanted something to deter the deer from eating her plants and I immediately thought that I could pee all over the yard since I've heard predator urine scares off the deer. Apparently, it doesn't quite work that way. Anyway, I picked up this repellent to protect the plants, and the missus is pretty impressed with how well it works. The biggest plus is that it’s super easy to use because no mixing is required. Just spray it directly on plants, and you’re good to go. It has a strong peppermint scent, (but don't taste it) which is actually pleasant compared to a lot of other repellents that smell awful (like human urine). More importantly, it seems to do a good job keeping deer away without harming them. Although I wouldn't mind fighting a deer, and the winner gets the plants... I’ve noticed a clear reduction in damage to the flowers and shrubs after using it consistently. It also lasts longer than expected, and I didn’t have to reapply constantly, even after some rain. The spray bottle works fine; no issues. Overall, this is a solid, natural deer repellent that actually helps protect your garden. If you’re dealing with deer eating your plants and want an alternative to tackling them, this might be your answer. Good luck!

I love the products. It works very well deterring deer from my plants that aren’t 100% deer resistant. My only complaint is that in my first bottle the top kept popping off and dropped to the ground spilling the contents. This is the second bottle hoping it works better. I think the problem is the straw is too long and doesn’t allow the top to secure and as you squeeze the trigger it loosens somehow.

This was recommended to me by a friend in Maryland who farms many acres. It works better and last longer that other products. It also has a pleasant odor of peppermint unlike other deer and animal repellant. Smells nice to us but not to the deer!!!!!! I actually had Hosta and Day Lilly blooms this year!!!!

The spray seems to be working. But the spray bottle is hard to use. If you need to cover a wide amount of plants this is tedious

I have found that the only deer deterrent that actually works is a gun. Prominently displayed on the front of the bottle is WONT WASH OFF. One short gentle shower the day I sprayed and 4 out of the 5 buds were eaten. After eating the rose buds they stripped the leaves from one side of my weeping yashino cherry tree. Have it away and bought a box of shells. I will eat well.

This is working to keep deer (and other outdoor critters) from eating my hydrangeas and other flowering plants. Have been trying to grow hydrangeas and most have been chomped right down to the ground. This year, I used this spray and it seems to have stopped the nibbling for the most part. I have used it on hydrangeas, roses, and a few other perennials. I do find that you have to re-apply after rain.
