Beats a disposable in every way
Great zippo quality. The finish is tough, too. Zippos are so much better than the disposable type. A Zippo will last a decade or more before the lid breaks off. I haven't bought a disposable lighter in years.

Been using this lighter for 7 years....
I got this Zippo lighter back in 2010. I have had it ever since. I do not carry it every single day, I do take breaks from carrying it, but it has been in my pocket and used a lot. I don't smoke. I carry a lighter as a tool. I'm constantly burning off some thread on something or finishing the end of a paracord bracelet that I am making. The finish reminds me of a rough powder coat with texture. I really like it. It is still on the lighter and has not rubbed off with all of these years of use. I don't carry change in my pockets. This Zippo lighter is in the same pocket that I have a knife clipped in. It bounces up against the knife, but it's also not rolling around with pocket change. I have had to replace the flint two to three times that I can remember. Those were very cheap to get right here on Amazon. And then one time I even found a little cartridge of the flint refills at Walmart. It will hold fluid for about a week with moderate use. Without being used at all it will hold fluid for a little longer, but eventually the fluid does dissipate within a few weeks time if I just leave it sitting in a drawer. I've not ever had to replace a wick. I have gotten some in anticipation of them needing replaced, but just haven't gotten to the point of it needing a new one. I love the classic sound of the Zippo lid flipping open. This one still holds true to that sound. It hasn't gotten loose overtime. The lid is still tight in place and requires a good thumb flick to get it open. This company does stand behind their work. I have a much older Zippo that started leaking beyond what is normal for them. I contacted the company to see what they would do. They had me ship it to them and they overhauled it. The only money that I was out was shipping it to them, it came back to me with brand new insert and even gave me back the old insert to show what they had done. If anything ever changes with this Zippo lighter I will update this review. It has already been going strong and doing great for 7 years. If you see this without an edit the you know that it is still working as I have described. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Easiest Full Sized Zippo to operate.
If you have any trouble working the standard Zippo lighter with one hand only, this black crackle design finish will be a great help in getting the right grip on the body and flicking up the top. Closing it is also easier with the crackle finish. I wish I had discovered this finish sooner. The slim models are also easier to use than the standard size, but they don't light every time like the standard ones always do.

Rhino Liner for your Zippo
I really like Zippo's, and I have been trying to make the transition from cheap disposable Bic's to a more permanent lighter. In addition to my new Black Crackle Zippo I also have a Black Ice Zipper style Zippo, but I really don't like to use it because it looks so nice! I don't want to scratch it or wear the logo off, so it ends up sitting in it's case in my drawer. Really nice looking lighter, but not useful as a daily tool. So I needed a solution, something that I didn't have to worry about scratching or having to constantly wipe finger prints off of. As the title signifies, "Rhino Liner for your Zippo" is what I expected when I bought this lighter. For the most part, that is the case, but in other ways it is not. Yes it does have a gritty texture to it, but it is not rough feeling in the least, in fact it is smoother (or more slick) than a chrome style Zippo. With my Black Ice Zippo when I hold it in my hand I feel as if I have a good grip on it, if I get my thumb and start from the bottom of the lighter and slide it to the top, the case feels as if it has some grip to it (as long as my hands aren't greasy or something). With the Black crackle if I slide my thumb from the bottom to the top, it slides very easily and has virtually no grip on the lighter whatsoever. If you have anything in your house that is painted with a matte black style paint (that has a rough texture), that is basically what this lighter feels like. And it has significantly less grip than a chrome style Zippo. Now the look of the lighter is great. It's all black with that rough looking texture, simple yet beautiful. I may actually like the look of the Black Crackle more than I do my shiny Black Ice Zippo. And this thing is 100% fingerprint proof and likely very scratch resistant. It would have been perfect if it had a small white Zippo logo on the case. Now for the biggest downside of the lighter, the hinge quality. I have had this lighter for just about 2 days now, and I like to frequently flip it open and close it (who doesn't like to play with their Zippo?) Everything was great when I first opened it, the hinges were solid, smooth and nothing was loose. However in just two short days the lid is now extremely loose. If I hold the Zippo by the bottom and shake it, the lid is so loose that I can hear it moving back and fourth while in the closed position (makes an annoying clicking sound as it touches the insert). And when I open it, the lid pivots back and fourth much more than it should. Technically the lid shouldn't pivot at all if these were constructed right, but the new (well, since 2005) 5 barrel Zippo hinges really stink, even my Black Ice one moves a bit but it is not nearly as bad as the Black Crackle hinge. Overall I am pretty disappointed, I really like the way the finish looks since it is practically scratch proof and definitely fingerprint proof, but it is far too slick and slippery feeling for my taste, and the abysmal hinge quality is appalling. I guess I could send it back to Zippo, but I would be paying almost as much in shipping as it cost to buy the lighter. And it's likely the problems will just return (like the loose hinge) since the new Zippo hinges are no good at all. They really should go back to 4 barrel or even better, 3 barrel. UPDATE 7/16/2011 - I have decided to bump up the rating to 4 stars, as two was a bit harsh. While the hinge may be a tad looser than my other Zippo's and it may not have the grip I would have liked, it is a decent tool that gets the job done. This Zippo is the perfect lighter to take if you don't want to worry about getting scratches or fingerprints, and you really don't need to be delicate with it as the finish seems pretty tough. The perfect Zippo to chuck in your pocket or toss around to your friends without having to constantly worry about the finish getting messed up. Although I have the feeling that while it may be impervious to fingerprints and scratches, the finish may 'chip off' in chunks if dropped or hit hard enough.

Excellent, Reliable and Good Looking.
Zippo has for long time made a simple , reliable lighter. It works every time. Looks great. And is sturdy as hell. In addition it is attractive and a great value.

Love the textured finish for added grip
Best carry zippo. Don't know why zippo doesn't make more textured finishes.

Outstanding value
This lighter is excellent, I would give it 5 stars because of this- Pros: it's like every other zippo, great quality, durable and always reliable. For me, it's very windproof like the brand says so it's good for lighting anything outdoors and indeed in. It's an extremely durable lighter and this model does not show scratches easily thus making it always pretty to pull out and show someone. It's very concealable and would fit into your pocket easily and not very visible unless wearing skinny jeans. The picture may show the lighter to have a rough design but it's actually very smooth and feels great in the hand. The black crackle finish makes this really stand out and be different to any other zippo lighter and looks like a very special piece. I Brough two of them and one is a brass casing and one is silver, you can only tell from the bottom of the lighter where the information is on the casing. Although both have the same silver inserts. These look great with this lighter and are very hard wearing. Cons: Unfortunately with zippos, the lighter fluid only lasts 2-3 weeks. This depends on use but the lighter fluid evaporates quickly. This is not a fault with this model though, all zippos do it. Just something to be aware of when purchasing a zippo. The chimney of the insert on thr zippo can get scratched due to the top cap of the casing scratching against it when opened and closed.I have used mine a lot and I do not have much scratching going on but it's just something to remember. I have a few zippos now and theye all do its. It's just something to be aware of when buying a zippo. This can be prevented by regular use rather than popping the lid up and down and making sure the inserts pushed down the furthest it will go. This lighter comes with a flint and wick installed, these will last a few months depending on use. Make sure you buy some lighter fluid though. Normal lighter fluid makes the zippo smell a bit so I bough regular fluid and have had no problem. It does not eliminate the smell but it just makes it smell less and give you a better flame and less evaporation. If you are new to zippos then this one is a great starter and looks perfect.

È bellissimo
È il MIO accendino! È il mio primo zippo e, guardando la manutenzione, è stato facilissimo imparare anche la manutenzione. Consigliatissimo e poi è davvero bello ed il classico “click” lo rende unico!
