Speaker fit well, good sound

These things POUND! I put them in a set of Yamaha SW118 boxes. It's a very large box, good for club like stuff for the deep lows, not so much for the chest pounding hit, although with these drivers in those boxes, you do get a good amount of hit in your chest. Awesome upgrade for the weak Yamaha drivers that were in the boxes originally, I get so much more low end out of these. I have them powered by a Behringer EP4000 (Yes I know, it's a Behringer, but it gets the job done!) bridged, mono, running parallel. Running that amp at 4 Ohms bridged, runs it at it's full potential. Theoretically, this amp should put out 4000 watts (Behringer Watts) at 4 ohms bridged, and if that spec is true, each one of these subs are getting 2000 Watts Max, each. They both handle it with ease, they pound hard without an issue, the amp clips out and these drivers just want more!In the future, I would love to get my hands on a set of nice small enclosures and throw another set in them and get some really good, hard, chest hitting kick drum low end from them.For the price, you can't beat the performance of these drivers!

Installed this in a EAW LZ-118 box and man do you feel the bass now. The speaker didn't fix because of the basket so I just installed the screws and forced it into the box. Yes I know not the 'correct' way but after it was installed I removed and inspected and no damage to the basket itself. Makes a difference when you upgrade from 1000 watts to 2400, and I think I need to tweak the box a little to get more airflow as well. The field replaceable basket is the best thing Peavey could do for the pro-audio folks.

It's a shame their products are now Made in China...

So much bass, almost too much bass
