Consult a Color Chart or Hope for the Best like I did.
Good product. I had to dye an Orange Flotation Vest and was hoping for a nice green but ended up with chestnut brown. I resulted in a one of a kind vest that meets all of the Maine requirements for a Maine Guide. The appearance is better than I hoped for and along with the Fixative (see other review) it is still going strong 2 years later of daily summer use.

Dye didn’t fade after washing
Color is great. Dyed light gray t shirt. Follow instructions. I’ve washed the dyed shirts around 15 times… color held fast. They still look great. No chemical smells. I used one bottle and dyed five T-shirts and one sweatshirt.

Did the job
Stained some new lulu pants but didnt want to toss them so tried dying them this dark green. Honestly worked better than I expected. I did accidentally ruin a couple other things not lulu in the wash with these though :| the color ran but probably could have been prevented if i washed them solo a few more times. Overall though good and got me basically a new pair of pants!

Hunter green is decent but ymmv
Used this on desert camo and the color came out with a slightly blue tint. Not enough to matter I think but I hear apple green may produce better results.

dyed faded stain on carpet
It is not recommended but I tried anyway. I only use organic cleaners such as hydrogen peroxide, enyzme etc... well my pup yacked and I cleaned it up. within a week all these "bleach stains" ended up on the carpet (see pic). my carpet is dark so I mixed, green, gray and brown. start slow and follow directions with hot water. right now it's a bit dark but anything looks better than bleached stains. for some small spots only the trained eye can see the difference. If you have nothing to lose and a bit of time, I would try it. I used a paint brush and rubbed really hard with bamboo towels to blend it. I waited an hour before each dye. After the color sets in the carpet I will probably use the colorstay.

Great for Carhartt jackets.
For some reason I woke up one day and decided that all my brown Carhartt jackets need to be OD green. Who knows why. I used a storage tub with some hot water, a half cup of salt, and a dab of Dawn and it came out perfect after soaking for an hour. I used an old broom handle to stir it a few times and hosed it off in the yard before washing. The color is exactly what I wanted.

3 Stars - Not Dark Enough for Synthetic Fabrics
I used Rit Synthetic Dye in Dark Green to dye my synthetic and linen blend curtains, and while the process was straightforward, the results were disappointing. I followed the instructions carefully and even used three bottles of dye, keeping the curtains in for the longest recommended time and used a color fixer as well. Despite this, the curtains came out much lighter than expected—closer to a sage green than the deep, rich dark green I was aiming for. The dye may work better on certain fabrics, but for a synthetic and linen blend, it just didn't take as strongly as I had hoped. The color is still pretty, but if you’re looking for a truly dark green, you might need more dye or a different method. Three stars because the product is easy to use, but the color payoff wasn’t quite there for my project.

Vibrant
I love this dye! It acts exactly how I need it too and stays in place where I apply it. High quality and vibrant, and matches the color that it says it is. I like to let my material sit for a while with it, and it's easy to wash my garments afterwards. I've washed one quite a few times at this point and the dye has stayed vibrant! Also I was able to dye about 50 bandanas with it, and with some left over, so I would say it has lived up to its value. Will buy again!

Happy
Really researched the product before hand as instructions for use a little unclear. Used sage green for a man’s heavy real wool beige cardigan. I really needed 2 bottles to get the darker colour. Despite weighing the garment and using the recommended 1 bottle, it was a lighter shade but I was happy with that. A fixing solution is also needed - easy to buy in the same range. No smell & would use the product again.
